YouSim. Volunteering for peace and tolerance.
Start date: 01 Sep 2014, End date: 30 Nov 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Within an EVS activity, CRISP is inviting two volunteers from two different countries from the EU neighborhood to our office in Berlin. During the 12 months of voluntary service, the volunteers shall get acquainted fully with the work of an internationally active German NGO. Our working foci are political education, post-conflict management, international cooperation and the support of civil society actors in conflict regions. CRISP uses for all its activities the method simulation game, with which the volunteers get familiar with during their time, to be enabled to use the method once being back in their countries of origin. The volunteers should not only be integrated into the general work of CRISP but will develop their own project - from conception, formulation, preparation and realization to evaluation. Therefore they will be asked to coordinate a youth exchange seminar. Through the conduction of general and specific tasks, we aim to motivate the volunteers, to also be active citizens in their countries of origin. Through the organization of a youth exchange project not only the immediate cooperation within youth work will be strengthened, but but as well will the volunteers be equipped with the respective organizational and content wise skills, which in turn they can bring back to their home organizations, thereby strengthening their local civil society.
