Young Tourism Entrepreneurs in a Digital Europe
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Oct 31, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project called “Young Tourism Entrepreneurs in a Digital Europe” is an youth exchange which will take place in the mountain resort Lepsa and in the capital city Bucharest, between 16-24 august. The project will deal with the topics of developing basic skills in entrepreneurship and digital media with the purpose of using them in tourism domain and improving the employability of young people in this sector. In this youth exchange 30 people (including group leaders) with the age between 18 and 25 years old, from 5 countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Romania will work and live together for 9 days, discussing topics that interest them such as entrepreneurship and tourism. During this project we would like to raise awareness about opportunities of developing new businesses in tourism sector in these countries, as there is still space for growth as the market is not developed as it’s full potential, and the quality of the services offered at this point can be improved. During the 9 days of activities we want to give 30 young people through informal and non-formal education the tools that can be used in developing a business: such as entrepreneurial and communication skills and also to discover together how internet and online media can be used for promoting businesses. We believe that through this project the 30 participants will learn to express and share ideas, to be tolerant regarding other cultures and learn how we can all develop together, regarding the country we come from. In this sense they will participate in workshops and trainings and will discover new ways of seeing tourism by visiting both urban and rural areas, as well as a mountain resort, and discussing with people who already own a business in this sector. In the final days of the youth exchange all 30 participants will work on a blog in which they will present their experience in Romania and in the youth exchange and there will be a discussion about the things they learned during the project. In the end we would like each group from the five countries to make a blog, using the competences acquired in the project, in which to promote their touristic areas and attractions, to promote tourism in their countries. If the participants decide to continue to work in this field, either by getting hired or by opening their own businesses, we truly believe that this blog will provide a much needed help.
