“Young observers on the city scene: participative processes and healthy life style under evaluation” carried out by the association Il corpo va in città® in partnership with Finnish Sport Federation, Municipality of Uusikaupunki, Ferrara and Portomaggiore supported by European Union with € 24.749,48. The main focus of the project was the young people participation. This general subject has been divided into two main fields: involvement of young people in policies concerning urban liveability (participative town planning, services for young people) and in enhancing health through physical and outdoor activities (How to improve the young people’s awareness of active life styles). The method of the project was the exchange of experiences between the partners which had a relevant background on this fields. The two pillars were two seminars which carried out in the two countries. During the first seminar in Ferrara, that took place from feburary the 27 to march the 2 2008, the participants prepared, helped by experts, common tools to investigate the two local contexts. Afterwards they applied the tools in their countries and during the second seminar (developed in Helsinhki and Uusikaupunki form 16 to 21 of august 2008) they presented the results of the surveys and builded the follow up of the project: guidelines useful for other countries and for developing further projects. The objectives of the project was: to define models and criteria of involvement of young people in the above mentioned fields; to establish a permanent net between several partners to improve the guidelines. Young Observers involved 16 young people (8 finnish and 8 italians) and many others involved in the project under evaluation (approximately an hudred) for a total of 16 months.
