young enterpreneurs with a cause/mladi podjetniki z razlogom
Start date: Jun 20, 2014, End date: Dec 20, 2014 PROJECT  FINISHED

Due to the fact that sustainable development, social entrepreneurship and social impact measurement are in the foreground on european and national level, we want our project to raise awareness about the importance of the issue and consider sustainability as a guidance in business and life. The exchange is aimed to contribute to the development of capabilities in the youth field through gathering knowledge in the social entrepreneurship area and through the development of competences of young people. Youth exchange "young entrepreneurs with a cause" will take place in a camp by river Kolpa in SE Slovenia from 22.08.-29.08. In the preparation and implementation of the project Youth Center BIT will cooperate with four partner organizations from Italy , Romania, Croatia and the United Kingdom. The exchange will be attended by 30 young people , unemployed individuals who are interested in creating opportunities in social entrepreneurship . At the same time we have invited local, regional and national actors . We wish to add width to the project by inviting colleagues and partners from different levels and thus promote the importance of sustainable development at all levels . An important objective of the project is to present the exchange at the festival Črnfest. The presentation will be performed by participants using creative approach and production of video. This will provide experience for participants to present the exchange and the topic in their organizations and local environments . Exchange will provide an opportunity to explore the importance of preserving the environment, nature -friendly and sustainable development (agriculture and tourism, fisheries, traditional crafts, learning about life in the wild and opportunities nature offeres). As part of the exchange, we will also explore guidelines and numerous opportunities offered by the EU programs for young people and entrepreneurs. We expect to encourage young people to think actively and contribute to preserving the environment and to focus on the principles of sustainable development. Through workshops, using methods of non-formal and informal learning we want to approximate the importance of local food self-sufficiency, which will be in the future a major challenge. We hope that the project will also contribute to a long-term possible solution, which is reflected in the start-up of small, sustainable local businesses. The wildlife and visiting best practices in our environment will encourage participants to think about opportunities in their environments. Through workshops we would like to contribute to the detection of the potential of young people and encourage them to make best use of them - and have in mind the social and environmental aspects of the business in addition to profit making.
