Young dr Dolittle

The main goal of project No 2014-1-PL01-KA102-000692 „Young Dr. Dolittle” was to gain by its direct beneficiaries new skills and competences connected to the veterinary field. Through implementation of the 3-week-long placements in Tuscany (IT) participants of the project strengthened possessed skills and abilities, developed their linguistic and intercultural skills, communication skills and transnational collaboration abilities. Through participation in the pedagogical, linguistic and cultural preparatory programme as well as implementation of the 3-week-long mobilities in Tuscany, participants of the project significantly increased numbers of their placement hours within their vocational preparation, they got to know work organization structure used in Italian veterinary clinic, used tools and equipment, methods and tools used, services offered, documentation implemented. They participated actively in the veterinary treatments. Participants of the project strengthened their practical information within basic examination of diverse animals, breeding techniques, vaccinations, insemination, taking samples for further laboratory tests, organising foster care for animals, etc. During project’ implementation participants of the project strengthened their English language knowledge, including the vocational vocabulary, they got to know the basic vocabulary in Italian language, they strengthened their intercultural competences, visited Tuscany, Vatican and ancient Rome. Veterinary Clinic „IL Falco” was our partner in the project. It not only organized the core activities within the placement, but also additional activities, such as training session in shelters, cow and horse farms, breeding shelters for guinea fowls and pheasants as well as Veterinary Departament of University of Pisa. 18 pupils from 2nd and 3rd school year of veterinary department of Zespół Szkół Centrum Kształcenia Rolniczego w Boninie, including 16 girls and 2 boys, they were implementing 3 transnational placements in groups made of 6 pupils and one trainer from the school. Project results were: multimedia presentation on the project’ implementation (movie clip), exhibition of photographs made during project’ implementation, project’ blog, training workshops for intermediate beneficiaries from our school. All aims and goals described in project’ application form were fulfilled. Following project was implemented from 31.12. 2014 till 30.12.2015 in Zespół Szkół Centrum Kształcenia Rolniczego w Boninie and veterinary clinic in Tuscany.
