The project ‚You(th) changing Kitzingen‘ ist he European Voluntary Service Project. The hosting organization is the Youth Care Centre of the City Kitzingen (2011-DE-129) and the coordinating organization is the Jugendbildungsstätte Unterfranken (2013-DE-100). The volunteer comes from Poland and the sending organisation is Semper Avanti from Wroclaw. The voluntary service starts in September 2014 and lasts 12 months. In that time the volunteer should support the open youth work in the Youth Centre ‘JungStil’ in Kitzingen, organize big events (like festivals, celebrations etc.) and free time activities, support the office work of the organization. The volunteer will as well be active in the Afternoon Care in the local school. After the orientation and introduction time the volunteer will have the opportunity to realize own ideas and projects. The aim is to enrich the youth work in Kitzingen in the intercultural way, to try new active and creative methods with children and youth. The volunteer would like to get to know the youth care in Germany as well as the pedagogics of the youth work and would like to get involved in the activities. The long term aim is to motivate the young people living in Kitzingen to learn foreign languages and to travel abroad (for internship, EVS, etc.). The hosting project decided to invite a volunteer from the partner city in Poland – Trzebnica to deepen the partnership between the cities.
