YiA Yeah! Youth Explores And Hangs-out!

Members of organization "Mladi za Marof" believe that every individual can make a difference in the world on a local level. In order to improve quality of life, it is necessary that young people get to know their own environment, explore its potential and get socially involved, according to their interests, in the certain community aspect. 25 young people from Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Portugal and Croatia will be given opportunity to learn more about this topic. Participants will be encouraged to think about their involvement in creative, modern way and point out benefits of voluntary work.Participants will spend eight days exploring following aspects of a small urban societies and rural surroundings: Modern Life of Youth, Culture and Social, Art and history, Nature and sport. These aspects will be investigated through active fieldwork and practical workshops. Each fieldtrip will be designed in the way that through learning about our region, participants will be shown possibilities of youth involvement into activities of local community and benefits of small societies. Participants will be introduced with members of local civil and voluntary organizations who struggle with geographical obstacles and weak financial capability. During this interaction, they will learn how volunteering and diversity of each individual (or group of individuals) can result with great ideas for the rural development.Accordingly, there will be many discussions about differences between cultures and nations of participants. They will have opportunity to talk about situation in their countries (local communities) and develop their own action plan how to improve it.Also, during the project participants will cooperate intensively with local habitants, which will have great impact on local people and spread the ideas of Youth in action Programme and this project in general.At the end of the project, participants will be asked to summarize their results as a half day event in a form of presentation, exhibition or a tour through visited areas, which they will be able to decide by themselves. Their challenge will be to prepare the event concept and all necessary materials such as brochures, photo and video presentations, etc. In perfect mix between creativity and volunteering, many great ideas will be born for entrepreneurship. Each participant will have the possibility to try out numerous practical methods which are used in social work.Through this exchange project, young participants will gain knowledge and skills which they will be able to use in their own social environment. Since we truly believe that the human contribution is the essential ingredient in every community, participants will also be motivated to promote volunteer work in their countries, especially in this year which is the year of volunteering.Summary in Croatian language: A?lanovi organizacije "Mladi za Marof" vjeruju da svaki pojedinac moLle promijeniti svijet na lokalnoj razini. U cilju poboljL?anja kvalitete Llivota, neophodno je da mladi ljudi upoznaju vlastito okruLlenje, istraLle njegov potencijal te se aktivno ukljuA¨e u odreA°ene dijelove svoje zajednice, u skladu sa svojim interesima. 25 mladih ljudi iz Makedonije, Portugala, Srbije, Ruminjske i Hrvatske dobiti A¦e priliku nauA¨iti viL?e o ovoj temi. Sudionici A¦e biti ohrabreni da razmiL?ljaju o svojoj druL?tvenoj svijesti na kreativan, moderan naA¨in te A¦e im biti ukazano na prednosti i znaA¨aj volonterskog rada.Sudionici A¦e provesti osam dana istraLlujuA¦i sljedeA¦e aspekte manjih urbanih zajednica i ruralnih sredina: Llivot mladih, kulturu i druL?tvo, umjetnost i povijesti te prirodu i sport. Ovi aspekti istraLlit A¦e se kroz aktivan rad na terenu i praktiA¨ne radionice.
