In recent years, developments occurring with the use of information technology on diagnosis and treatment methods have caused to increase the average life expectancy. Unexpectedly increases occurring the proportion of the elderly population in the country require taking a new set of actions. According to World Health Organization data, today's elderly population of aged 60 and older is 10% in worldwide and it is expected to reach 16% in 2050. According to the 2014 census results of the Turkey Statistical Institute 8% of the population is age group of 65 and over. In 2050, this rate is expected to be 20%. The elderly population is seen as a success for modern society. However, if health problems those have been brought about with this success are not corrected, it is inevitable that mentioned success may turn into frustration. To prevent potential problems, preparations must be made such as the training of health workers to deal with older people care only, preventing age-related chronic diseases and taking under surveillance control, designing a strong long-term health policy, the development of the services according to age groups. To prevent potential problems, the training of health workers to deal with older people care, preventing and controlling age-related chronic diseases, planning of long-term strong health policy, preparations such as improvement of the services according to age group is required. The persons who study nursing do not prefer this area for requirements of elderly and dementia patients care contains more difficulty compared to normal patients. In this case, the need for qualified personnel in this area has led to the increase each passing day. These are aimed through the project that to orientate the nurses who will provide psychosocial support to patients aged and demented to the this area, on-site monitoring methods and approaches practiced in Europe, to share experience in partner countries and the project have been cogitated with the goal of learning medical technology used in this field and psychosocial needs of people in different cultures and it was practiced at Klaipeda College located in Lithuania between the dates of 19 April 2015 and 16 May 2015. Klaipeda College Institute of Health Sciences is an educational institution recognized by its international organizations regarding nursing education. It has professional staff in the educational field of elderly patients with dementia and their care and rehabilitation and they have been providing training to students in this area from many countries. 23 students who study in the nursing field of P?nar Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Haci Bozan Bozano?lu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Ma?uk Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School have participated in the project. Our participants have an average of 2 year experience in improving, protection and increasing life quality of individuals, families, groups and public health with general nursing education. They were receiving vocational training in enterprises at the time the project was carried out. The participants were chosen among the students who have high academic achievement, good at English, attended the sick and elderly care at home, socially enhanced and interested in the different cultures. Our participants have been receiving training in nursing and it was need for them to know the methods and techniques applied in the EU countries regarding the psychosocial approach to the elderly and people with dementia. The contribution have been obtained through the projects can be mentioned as; improvement of individuals, groups, community health, families, protection and preventive health services in order to increase the quality of life, understanding the health care system in our country and self-improvement of skills, behavior and information about these areas, their participation in the labor market, and the transfer of knowledge, experiences that may contribute to the improvement of infrastructure, motivation and enhancing morale of young people participating in the vocational training, reduction the development gap between regions through social and economic development, and promoting job creation, human resources of enterprises have been developed increasing the capacity of qualified staff needed. The contribution has been provided to be able to reach the goal at the end of the year by ensuring mobility of European students in vocational and technical education, the development of talent working together by increasing the cooperation with the organizations working in the field of rehabilitation of patients with vocational and technical training institutions and above all transformation of the experiences as documents gained with the project to the ECVET credit and Europass.
