"High professional qualification of a teacher - the guarantee of effective education" is a project conducted in Jan III Sobieski Complex of Schools in Szczytno Erasmus + Mobility Action KA1- staff education.Jan III Sobieski Complex of Schools is a public institution managed by a local government in Szczytno. The complex comprises of two schools: a three-year lower secondary school and a three-year secondary school . The school takes part in many international E-twinning projects e.g. ‘You know me, and I know you’ , ‘I like, I read, I recommend’ or ‘ Local Folk Tales - the source universal values common in Europe’, There are two foreign languages taught at school: English and German by eleven foreign language teachers. The research, which was conducted at school, showed that teachers still have insufficient teaching and language skills.The school wants to higher its level of teaching foreign languages to the European level by e.g. improving linguistic and methodological awareness of teachers, individualization of teaching, use of ICT in the classroom, use of modern methods of language teaching and development of international cooperation.The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of school work in the field of foreign language teaching through teachers’ participation in language and methodology courses.The detailed objectives :- Increasing teaching and language skills of teachers working in Jan III Sobieski Complex of Schools ,- Increasing knowledge of using modern teaching methods by teachers of Jan III Sobieski Complex of Schools,- Increasing skills on the use of modern teaching methods,- Expanding the international awareness of education through cooperation with other teachers from the European institutions- Improving the process of teaching and learning of foreign languages in the Jan III Sobieski Complex of Schools- Improvement of the results of the oral school leaving examination at the advanced level- Increasing the number of students choosing German language at the compulsory, writing part of school leaving examination- Increasing intercultural awareness in the school-Improving the image of the school in the local community.It is expected that the number of participants in the project will include seven members of staff - 4 teachers of English and 3 teachers of German language. Activities planned in the project include:-Creating a team responsible for preparing the project- Pre-meetings with native citizens of United Kingdom, Malta, Germany (the training centers of methodology and language courses for teachers). The meetings will aim to deepen the knowledge of the history, culture and customs of those countries.- Involvement of the teachers- participants of the project, in workshops shaping their skills of sharing their knowledge and experience and on adapting to new location The workshops will be an invaluable tool when implementing new methods and forms of teaching , knowledge and ideas by the participants of the mobility. Moreover, the workshops will be helpful when adapting to a new location, separation from family , etc .-Participation of the teachers in methodological and language courses in European countries - Germany, the UK and Malta- Implementation of the new methods and solutions in Polish educational reality.The team preparing the project will watch over the implementation and organization of the project. The entire work will be coordinated by a leader appointed by the headmaster.The outcome of the project will be mainly the improvement the quality of school work by increasing the methodological and linguistic competence of foreign language teachers. Thanks to the participation in the educational project our school will obtain European standards.Students will get a chance to become aware members of the European Union and familiar with foreign languages at upper level. The effectiveness of teaching foreign languages will be increased by gaining and updating teachers' skills and knowledge through participation in methodological and language courses.Teachers will not only enrich their workshop with modern, innovative ways of teaching but also expand their cultural knowledge and individualize work with students. Moreover, they will broaden their knowledge of the usage of ICT for foreign language classes, expand knowledge about ways to motivate students and establish contacts with teachers from other parts of the world. In this way they can exchange their experiences with others and create international projects.The implementation of this project will not only influence teachers, but also the school, as it will gain a positive image as an institution raising its rank, using the latest teaching methods and information technologies. This will help us create the image of developing school open to the world.
