Our school consists of two schools: primary and lower secondary (gimnazjum) and has some experience in international educational programmes such as Socrates andComenius. There are 350 students in the primary school and 165 in the lower secondary. Our goal is to create an institution which meets the requirements of a 21st century European school. We aim to create a modern, safe, student-centred school and to ensure that all our students receive a good preparation for further education and work. To fulfill these needs it is necessary for our staff to take some professional training offered by Erasmus Plus KA1. The carefully selected participants will be two teachers of pre-school and 1 – 3 classes of primary school, the librarian, teacher of English in the primary and lower secondary school and the principal. Participating in Intensive English and language-methodology courses will allow the teacher to improve their language competence and prepare them for further specialist training. Bi-Component Training Courses will give us a good insight into other European educational systems, examples of good practice, methods and techniques of teaching and the use of ICT in education. They will also be an opportunity to observe the work of teachers in a variety of positions, including the principal and the librarian. Experienced and knowledge gained from the training on school will allow us to carry out international school projects in an effective and professional way. After the training we will introduce the examples of good practice into our teaching and pastoral practice which will improve the overall quality of our institution. In particular we will introduce elements of English in the pre-school and lower primary classes, new, attractive methods in the teaching of English in classes 4-6 in the primary and lower secondary school, we will also increase the use of digital technology in teaching and learning and the role of the library as a bilingual media centre. We will create long-term plan of school internationalisation including international educational projects carried out in co-operation with other schools.
