Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: Sep 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

OUT OF THE CLASSROOM AND INTO THE WORLDBENEFITS: According to our school's policy statement and the school's European Development Plan one of our main priorities is constant teachers development, searching for didactic innovations and experiments and implementing them as well as applying modern methods and tools in teaching in order to continuously raise the quality of the school's work. Our project will help us to achieve this priority by:-exploring outdoors pedagogy, understanding the social and personal benefits of outdoor education, learning new teaching methods, techniques and existing outdoor educational strategies which can be used in everyday school situations (creating teaching toolbox).-shaping up our students to have qualities such as involvement and taking responsibility for their own education, creativity in problem-solving, team work skills, respect for others and the world around them, broadness of mind. -learning foreign languages. Knowledge of foreign languages is a necessity for young people in today's world therefore improving this competence is of high priority to us. We achieve that not only by language lessons as such but also by teaching some other subjects in English. - using modern IT technology in the best possible way. In today's rapidly changing world in order to meet the above aims it is necessary to apply the most modern teaching methods. Searching for such methods is the main purpose of this project. LONG-TERM BENEFITS-participants' language skills improvement, -better knowledge of other European countries and their culture, -good practices exchange with teachers from other schools, making new connections with other schools from Europe through teachers in order to cooperate in different ways in future. - growth of European dimension of our school. Four teachers will participate in the project. They have been selected as a result of an application process, according to set criteria by a special selection committee. One of the important criteria was that the teachers should be from different departments or that they should work with different grades (I to III or IV to VI). The committee decided that IT, two English (one I-III teacher, and one IV-VI teacher) and lower primary education teachers will take part in the project. All the selected teachers are highly motivated and willing to share their knowledge with others. The main activities of the project include:1. Careful and possibly best preparation for taking part in the courses both substantive and practical (prior contact with hosting organizations and following their suggestions, defining own training needs according to the courses program , reading available publications in the area of interest, if possible doing an on-line course before the mobility, getting in touch with other course participants, regular project group meetings, detailed planning of dissemination and evaluation of the project).2. Participation in the planned courses.3. Planning and teaching lessons using outdoors educations methods, and techniques, preparing outdoors game for school community and local community, preparing essential materials for other teachers, providing teacher training courses focusing on outdoors activities and running interdisciplinary projects for students.3. Dissemination of the results according to the prior plan (workshops for other teachers, making the collected materials available to all the teachers at school, preparing and carrying out a new school project based on gained knowledge , writing articles about the courses for the school's website and for the eTwinning website). 4. Self-reflection of the participants and project evaluation. The expected results of the project:Higher knowledge of new didactic methods and tools and applying them in teaching, higher knowledge about the hosting countries and sharing it with students, higher language skills, getting in touch with teachers from other countries and exchange of good educational practices. Potential long-term benefits:Due to sharing the knowledge with other teachers and applying the new methods and techniques on a wider scale lessons will become more interesting and attractive. As a result students' motivation will raise and they will become more involved in the process of their own education. The school resources will be enriched by the set of new tools and practical ideas. Better language skills of the teachers will affect the teaching quality of English. Exchange of good pedagogic and didactic practices will result in implementing them in our school and therefore the quality of education will grow. Teaching our students an open-minded towards other cultures attitude, reinforcing and further development of our school's European dimension and undertaking new interesting forms of cooperation with partners from other European countries will definitely be among other important benefits of the project.
