Project background : With the changes in the regional labour markets into a European labour market the requirements at our school have changed. Our school should and wants to prepare our students for Europe and for the European labour market. That is why the teachers‘ intercultural and project management skills have to be significantly improved. Intercultural skills are a multidisciplinary competence and an essential part of a Europe open school. The skills should be learned in intercultural training courses and project management training courses . Important for us is that our teachers attend the courses together with teachers from other countries , so that the cross-cultural learning can not only take place during the training course period, but also during the whole seminar time . At the same time our teachers have the opportunity to intensively meet potential project partners and plan with them school exchanges , e-twinning or job shadowing. Project goals: The pedagogical approach underlining this choice is that the training main objective is to support networking and knowledge sharing among teachers and learning facilitators in Europe and by giving them the opportunity to mutual exchange. Improvement of intercultural skills and project management skills of teachers. Finding future project partners abroad. Improving knowledge and competence through exchanging experiences. Developing intercultural competence: openess, tolerance and acceptance. Familiarise participants on the EU funding opportunities in the context of the EU financial framework 2014-20. Provide advice on how to manage contractual procedures effectively with the European Commission when creating an appropriate transnational project partnership. Familiarise participants with basic principles in project management, like organising a time plan, monitor the project development, create and deliver project reports. Organize and plan the financial and administrative aspects of the project. Familiarise participants with successful dissemination/promotion and exploitation principles of European projects. Number and profile of participants; The 15 participating teachers for Project management for intercultural exchange projects in Europe and 11 for job shadowing should: - be willing to attend training courses abroad. - have sufficient language skills. - be willing to spread the European idea to colleagues and students. - be willing to integrate the European idea in teaching. Description of measures: Participation in intercultural project management training courses and job shadowing. Methodology for project implementation: With the training courses intercultural competence shall be implemented in lessons and with the project management skills of teachers European projects shall be institutionalized. The practical course on European Project Planning helps individuals and organisations increase their efficiency rates on successful projects and create a strong European partnership for future collaboration. Participants will have the way paved for the interpretation of the documents for developing an effective project idea and will work on projects within small groups. Practical simulations will be carried out based on the use of the services, database and documentation by the EU. At the end of the training course, every group will have produced a first draft of a European project including the application form, the budget, transnational partnership, evaluation and dissemination of their own project. Description of the expected results, effects and potential long-term benefits: The seminar experience will boost the motivation for intercultural learning and intercultural cooperation and the work at the school with European projects will be more effective.. The training will enable teachers to inspire our teaching staff even more for European projects, and to use the project work as a means to expand the students‘ intercultural, language and social skills. By expanding these skills our students will be better prepared in the future for the demands of the European and international labour market.
