Współpraca europejska drogą do efektywnego nauczania kompetencji kluczowych
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The objectives of the project ‘European Cooperation as an Effective Means of Teaching Key Competences’ aim at broadening the scope of educational schemes involving international projects and thus gradually developing our students’ skills required on the part of a well-rounded European citizen of the 21st century. We would like to provide learning opportunities for our staff members upon realising the connection between teachers’ competence levels and the effectiveness of their work. This includes ICT skills, teaching methods, organising both school and out of school activities, linguistic skills and conscious European citizenship. International cooperation as well as effective teaching are priorities for our school. The abovementioned project is a part of a lengthy process we have been participating in. The mobilities are meant for 8 teachers specialising in different fields, working at three educational stages. The project is organised in such a way that the subject matter of the subsequent courses is extended gradually which means that the teachers will have to cooperate closely in order to maximise their results. More than one teacher will be participating in the most important training courses, which will allow efficient cooperation of all staff members and achieving noticeable and long-lasting results. We are going to use the achievements of European education in order to introduce and promote international cooperation not only in our school, but also outside the school walls. We will adapt the teaching methods to suit the needs of the individual student, use ICT skills as well as motivate foreign language studies, encourage critical thinking, teamwork and creativity. We will be conducting pedagogical experiments. Our findings will be then described thoroughly, thus becoming reusable strategies and tools for our school or other educational units. We will build e-learning platform which is going to be used by the entire school community. We would like to introduce Content and Language Integrated Learning into our curriculum for both lower primary and secondary schools. Repeated evaluations (both internal and external) are going to guarantee the effectiveness of the result gathering processes. The teachers participating in mobilities are going to be prepared as far as the awareness of the target language and culture are concerned. Furthermore, they will receive all the necessary logistic support and travel plan monitoring system. All the findings will be consolidated into the didactic methods used in our school; we will be hosting thematic teacher meetings. Subsequently, interdisciplinary teams charged with the implementation and dissemination of the aforementioned findings will be set up. The teams will continue their work after the project will have already finished. We wish to share our experiences with wide audiences; we would like to provide unlimited access to all our materials. We will be presenting the project to various school communities using such platforms and social media as, for example, eTwinning, Facebook or Twitter. We intend to publicise our findings in dedicated educational magazines and participate in conferences propagating our ideas. International cooperation should become a compulsory component of modern education which is going to be present in every school; its importance should not be underestimated as far as effectiveness of 21st century skills teaching is concerned.
