Wspólne europejskie niebo
Start date: Dec 31, 2015, End date: Dec 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project "Common European sky” will be accomplished by the Primary School No. 11 im. Henryka Sienkiewicza in Puławy. Although the project team consists of 4 participants, the realization will involve the whole school community of almost 600 students and 50 staff members. Our region faces difficult economic situation, which strongly influences children from our school. High level of unemployment directly affects students’ families. They do not have the opportunity to develop their interests for example: by participating in the trips to other cities to use their cultural and educational facilities. English is the only language which is taught in the school. Among the teachers the command of any foreign languages is very limited, too. Therefore, they do not gain ability to use a range of ICT tools (eg: eTwinning platform) and have little chance to participate in the training sessions or courses taking place abroad. Early childhood education teachers rarely use the possibility of putting into practice learning a foreign language into the educational program of classes I-III. The European Plan of School Development was prepared by the team of the teachers. In this plan the long-term aims of SP no. 11 are listed. Among them are: 1. Increasing international cooperation by establishing more partnerships with foreign schools and educational institutions. 2. The development of key competencies among our students. The knowledge, skills and attitudes listed by the European Parliament and the European Council will be taught to our pupils. 3. Extending the school offer in the field of education: teaching and upbringing by creating the classes based on CLIL teaching, the introduction of foreign language classes at the level I-III, using modern teaching methodology, tools and methods. 4. Teachers career progression and professional development will be enhanced by training their skills. 5. Strengthening the position of the school in the local, national and international level through giving it European character, implementation of projects at the European level. Four teachers from the school will take part in the project: 1. Beata Kryczka-Tarka, an English teacher, who chose a methodical course in Dublin, 2. Anna Bieleń, a teacher of science, music and art, general course in Dublin, 3. Monika Mocarska, early childhood education teacher, general course in Dublin, 4. Swinarska Teresa, a librarian teacher, general course in Dublin. The above-mentioned objectives will be achieved thanks to: 1. The decision to join the Erasmus + program: the participants of the program were chosen by a panel consisting of school management and external members. 2. Creating the application form. 3.The analysis of the learning quality at school. 4. Receiving approval for Erasmus +, signing the relevant agreements. 5. Linguistic and intercultural preparation of the teachers who go on courses (meeting and workshops, teaching materials and methodologies). Establishing the timetable of regular meetings of the participants of the project and all the teachers during the Teachers Council. 6. Promoting via workshop and training session the usage of instruments/certificates like Europass and European platform- eTwinning and other educational tools among teachers and including multicultural content into school curriculum. 7. Promoting the project in the school environment and at local level. 8. Chosen teachers take part in foreign courses. 9. After finishing the courses the participants prepare individual reports to the project coordinator and headteachers. 10. Dissemination project results among other teachers of our school. Carrying out the next stage of the evaluation thanks to usage the same methods and tools as in section 3. 11. Preparing promotion of the project in the region. Finishing the project: final evaluation. 12. Dissemination the project results among teachers from the whole region. 13. One year after completing the project we will evaluate the results by the final evaluation. Thanks to carrying out established activities, the project will bring the following achievements: a. Creation of a CLIL class b. Regular English teaching at the level of I-III class education c. Integration of European cultural content with classes’ curriculum. d. Lessons based on modern methods and usage of new technologies. e. Training the key competencies among students and teachers. f.
