Wsparcie rozwoju zawodowego uczniów technikum
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project "Support to the professional development of students of vocational schools” will be implemented by the School of Economics in Rzeszow in cooperation with Rudolf-Rempel-Berufskolleg in Bielefeld, Berufskolleg Senne der Stadt Bielefeld and Obchodne Academy in Košice. Detailed rules of cooperation in the project have been established with all the partner schools, relating to their scope of competence and responsibility along with requirements for apprenticeship programmes and venues. Expectations have been also clarified in regard to housing, board, the scope of cultural education and the possibility of meetings of tutors and students with teachers and students from the partner schools. The project involves a class trip of 32 third-form students of economics , of commerce and of digital techniquesof graphic processes on a 3-week apprenticeship programmes to Bielefeld and Košice in 2015-2017. The primary objective of the project is to increase and improve the participants’ practical skills, improving efficiency in the performance of professional tasks using information technology and modern tools of communication in English, in both professional contexts and everyday life. This will result, in the long run, in preparing more attractive potential employees taking part in the project and on the labour market, facilitate transition from the process of learning along through to employment. The project provides for careful preparation, both linguistic and pedagogical, before starting in the apprenticeship, as well as cultural preparation to be held partly in school and partly by applicant in partner countries. The project will hopefully result in confrontation in real terms, of not only professional and linguistic skills but, also, of the equally important in the labour market, social and communication faculties. Trips to Germany and Kosice will also be an opportunity to learn the traditions and culture of the relevant countries, to be open to diversity, tolerance and to learn respect for this diversity. The project promotes mobility, flexible employment and entrepreneurship. Furthermore, the project will improve the system of apprenticeship programmes, increase the attractiveness of school education and deepen cooperation between schools and employers in Poland, Germany and Slovakia. The implementation of the project will show students that the graduates of technical schools educated in Poland have a real chance of finding employment in foreign companies. It will stimulate curiosity, give a new look at the European labour market, make its participants open to other cultures, show alternative living standards and leisure activities. The implementation of the project is part of a strategy of development of the Subcarpathian region to support international youth exchange and European apprenticeships. This will allow to adjust the system of vocational training to the needs of the European labour market. The exchange of experience along with co-operation with employers will help schools develop modern methods and education programmes. The programme of foreign apprenticeships and criteria for their assessment have been developed in cooperation with employers from Rzeszów, Bielefeld and Kosice. The implementation of this project is particularly important given the characteristics of its potential participants. Approximately 71% of the students at ZSE live in the countryside, about 41% in need of financial aid. These are the young people coming from the low-income families, often at risk of structural unemployment. The project supports beneficiaries from the underdeveloped areas with high unemployment rate: Subcarpathian province - 14.8%, in some counties of the region - more than 20%, Poland-11.5% . Subcarpathia is a typical agricultural region, poorly urbanized with low rate of entrepreneurship, as of National Statistics Beaurou 2013: 1167 establishments of small and medium-sized entrepreneurship per 10000 residents - one of the lowest in the country (across Poland: 1652 SMSE / 10000). Prevailing are small family businesses with a low level of sales, low competitiveness and innovation. The tax revenue ratio per capita is 75.09 zloty (the highest in the country-258.29 zloty). The average monthly salary in the region is 3555 zł (national average-4379 zloty). The research conducted by the school shows that 68% of the students has never emigrated abroad, and 24% has not left the Podkarpackie province. The project aims to publish the results in the applicant school, its local area as well as in partner schools and their environs. This will encourage other students to participate in similar projects, boost development of professional, linguistic and interpersonal skills and break the stereotypes of mutual perception of the partner countries. The cooperation will be then used for designing and implementing projects not only for students and staff mobility, but also for strategic partnerships or sport and culture
