The Project consists of three tasks which will be carried out by a teacher of Państwowe Pomaturalne Studium Kształcenia Animatorów Kultury i Bibliotekarzy we Wrocławiu (Wrocław State School of Cultural Animators and Librarians) and a partner institution (Fundazione Fabbrica Europa per le Arti Contenporanee). 1. Creativity in art / Creativity in teaching Being in the process of intellectual and artistic development as an element necessary for people working in cultural space and involved in vocational artistic education. The objective of the task is to develop as an artist, to increase competency in the range of creative work methods and techniques, and to recognize local artistic community. The assignment will be carried out by means of the methods of observation and participation in selected artistic performative activities, job shadowing. Active, critical and open attitude is necessary in cultural space. Its characteristic feature is being in process. Such attitude makes the acquired experience and knowledge become a source of reflection, analysis and need to abandon familiar solutions in order to discover lively and current content and techniques of creative expression. The task will result in the increase of commitment to work and creativity. It will also give satisfaction from implementation of the mission aiming at dissemination of culture. In the long term, artistic attitude based on the courage of expression, freedom and individuality will be enhanced. This will also reduce the risks resulting from the sense of duplication and the loss of creative potential. 2. Animator’s work skills and conditions - a practical perspective. The purpose of the task is to increase the professional competence in the field of art education through participation in educational and artistic activities and animation (by using the method of job shadowing); recognition of the local environment of cultural animators, nature of their activities and methods of work. The idea of animation is to activate animation processes in which people pursue their own goals based on the principles of activism, free creative expression, communality, participation, self-management and self-organization. Artistic animation designs conditions and stimulates the creation and manifestation of the means of articulation which allow participants to speak in the perspective of wider creative activities. Animators’ education is based primarily on practical activities, which arises from the specificity of the profession. Thus enhancing the professional competence in the field of animation is possible mainly by practical work and participation in various projects outside vocational education units. In this way, new methods of work are created and already familiar techniques are tested in out-of-school conditions and embedded in real life. This gives the possibility of elaborating authentic and inspiring space for the development of arts education. In the long term, this attitude becomes a practice leading to the improvement of work methodology and techniques. It provokes discussion and initiates changes of the existing core curriculum in order to match the needs of the changing reality and help graduates to find themselves in the dynamic labour market. 3. Animation in Poland - an international perspective The purpose of the task is to observe the artistic and animation activities of the partner institution, the analysis of its functioning and its importance in creating culture. The task will be carried out by using the method of job shadowing (i.a. participation in holding Fabbrica Europa Festival, which is one of the main activities of the foundation). This opens the possibility to learn from already-developed patterns and experiences in building an active cultural space, and to share practice in this area. This task is the first part of the planned international cooperation. It will result in conclusions drawn after the end of mobility, which will form the basis of reflection serving to: - create a model of continuous cooperation leading to activation of the wider group of staff in mobility projects - implement new solutions in the methodology and shape of the education program, which will be followed by social, cultural and economic changes - develop models of animation and art education that will enhance the employability of the graduates - increase linguistic, social and cultural competence through contact with reality of Italy
