WORKPLACEMENT V: Neue Formen der internationalen Zusammenarbeit zwischen Schulen und Unternehmen
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

For the last fifteen years there has been an educational initiative called CROSSOVER between the business schools of bfi Wien and schools in Bratislava (Slovakian Republic), Brno (Czech Republic) and Györ and Székesfehérvár (Hungary) which deals with the disappearing borders and contacts between young people. Furthermore, a cross-border, multilingual magazine with the same name, in which the joint projects of these schools is documented, has been developed. Our project "WORKPLACEMENT: New forms of international cooperation between schools and companies", submitted for the fifth time for funding by the European Commission, should give the students of the schools of bfi Wien increased opportunity to participate in measures to complete their professional education in another country. The target groups are students of the third to fifth grade of the business college of the BFI Wien schools in the field of European Economics as well as the third grade of the the school and its advanced courses. The pupils have good specialist knowledge (economics, IT and languages) as well as good theoretical knowledge of communication and management. Furthermore they had already gained experience in the above mentioned trans-national joint projects with the partner schools. With this “mobility-project”, we want to contribute during the initial training phase to the abilities and competencies and employment prospects of our students in the European labour market. Our target group should be given the possibility to gather experience within the framework of practical vocational training in companies of neighbouring Eastern European countries. Workshops for preparing participants culturally and professionally, have been planned. Short language courses for the target countries are also foreseen. In the summer of 2014 and 2015, a three week practical work placement for students of our commercial college will take place within companies in Bratislava, Brno, Hodonin, Budapest and Székesfehérvár. The companies have been chosen with the support of our partner-schools. Accompanying support and evaluation measures will be carried out by all the participating partners. Following the participants' return, feedback and other forms of evaluation as well as other diverse events for the purpose of dissemination activities are planned.
