Project Work, Research and Innovation for the Tomorrow Education started with the purpose of improving the existing school curriculum of the School of Nursing (Srednja medicinska škola Slavonski Brod) in particular in relation to the nurses responsible for general care / nurse responsible for general care, physiotherapy technician / technician improvements degree of key competences and skills of staff and students, especially in relation to their importance for the labor market. The overall aim was to empower teachers to develop the approach "bottom-up" in order to ensure the acquisition of modern competence and access to the latest technologies through professional internships in companies / institutions and thus increase the employability of students and the relevance of their qualifications in the labor market. On the other hand, the goal was to improve the staff knowledge, skills and competencies and the students knowledge, skills and competencies of the below mentioned professions. The following activities were planned and implemented: A) The mobility of personnel / staff training (November 2015) aimed at strengthening the competencies and skills of the target group in order to modernize school curricula through visits to clinics and hospitals, clinics for Development rehabilitation, hospitals, educational institutions according to the program which was created in cooperation with the partner institution from Seville, Spain. The duration of mobility was one week. The target group of this mobility maked a total of nine employees of the School as follows: - 3 teachers / school nurses who educate student nurses responsible for general care / school nurse responsible for general care and 3 teachers / experts who educate physiotherapy technicians / physiotherapy technicians who were directly involved in activities related to the update of the curriculum, and who went through certain professional training during the mobility to strengthen their profession as well as to try to improve the existing implementation of the curriculum. - 3 members of the school management - were directly involved in activities related to the modernization of the curriculum. B) The mobility of students to the workplace ( 21 February -12 March 2016) with the aim of improving professional knowledge and competence in order to strengthen competitiveness of the European labor market and thus easier employability through professional practice in clinics and hospitals, clinics for Developmental rehabilitation, homes for the elderly and the program that was created in cooperation with the partner institution from Seville, Spain. The duration of the mobility was 3 weeks. The target group of this mobility maked a total of 20 final year students as follows: 10 students - a nurse responsible for general care / nurse responsible for general care and 10 students - physiotherapy technician. With this project at the school level the following specific objectives were achieved: - different methodologies for the development of new tools and applications for learning and creating support for the development of a positive learning environment and thereby raise the quality of vocational education were adopted; - the educational curricula for nurses and physical therapists in the Republic of Croatia and Spain was fully analyzed and compared; - the latest professional and scientific knowledge and skills were shared and thus the students were able to self-assess previous work and to create conditions for the improvement of the same - one identified areas for future collaboration / partnership to provide opportunities for professional practice for future generations - to develop cooperation between educational institutions and professional teaching basis of the EU countries in order to provide further opportunities for professional practice for generations to come; - students' ability to respond to the needs of individual students and to deal with their social, cultural and linguistic diversity was improved; - the skills and abilities of the management structure for the management of the school was improved; - one promoted the formal recognition of skills and competences acquired through professional development activities abroad. With this project on the students level the following specific objectives were achieved: - expanded the professional knowledge and competence and became more competitive in the European labor market; - became familiar with the quality of work and the organization of apprenticeship in foreign companies / institutions; - exchanged experiences with their Spanish peers; - gained self-confidence and personal development; - raised awareness of the importance of lifelong learning process; - held meetings with mentors upon return regarding new schedule and curriculum; - suggested new extracurricular activities for the school year 2016/17 ( Implementation of the Science Festival in Medicine; First Aid/Emergency Procedures)
