Work and Learn Abroad
Start date: Jul 1, 2016, End date: Jun 30, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project Work and Learn Abroad is going to involve 3rd-year-students of Tomas Bata Business Academy Zlin. We are going to include 18 students of all study programmes, which are: business economics, tourism, international trade and public administration. The students are going to spend four weeks working in Plymouth, Great Britain, and Granada, Spain in May 2017, each of them doing a job connected with their branch of study. The trainees will gain work experience and they will learn about the organization, strategies and work habits in the European environment. The main aims of the project are obtaining practical skills specific for the particular jobs, improving English/Spanish communication, learning about European culture and behaviour, and becoming more self-confident. The trainees will learn to solve problems and be independent in the English or Spanish speaking environment. This work experience will be also motivating for the trainees and their schoolmates as well as for future vocational students. The outcomes: work experience recorded in Europass Mobility, which students will use when looking for a job both in the Czech Republic and in the whole European Union. Other outcomes will include better communication skills in English or Spanish considering everyday conversation at home and work, and better knowledge of special terminology in foreign languages. Our aim is also testing and implementation of ECVET as one of a series of European instruments that target improvements in recognition and transparency. The long-term objective is to strenghten the employability of our students and facilitate their transition to the labour market.Activities expected in the project Work and Learn Abroad support developing the European dimension of our insitution.
