Women's E-Business Enterprise Learning Project

This project sought to address Europe’s need for:1. More women entrepreneurs and more women to create and grow small businesses.2. More ICT capable, competitive, innovative and productive small businesses.3. Quality and relevant enterprise learning and support systems for women so that they can tackle current economic and technology challenges. This project will develop an innovative learning model to address these needs. It builds on an existing learning model for women creating & developing small businesses developed by The Women’s Organisation. It will adapt and improve this model of learning to integrate ICT capability and e-business activities with business planning and strategic development processes. The aim is to improve women-led SME innovation and competitiveness through improved ICT capability and increased e-business activities, where e-business is ‘the productive use of ICT to support both internal and external business processes’.The project targets women creating & developing SMEs, particularly those facing disadvantage in the labour market: employed by SMEs; BME and migrant women; other unemployed women and those living in deprived areas. The partnership of UK, IE, SI & NO organisations are experts in women’s enterprise, learning development, policy influencing and EU project working.Overall, the project will increase the number & value of women owned businesses contributing to the development of the EU as an advanced knowledge based society with sustainable economic development, more and better jobs and greater social cohesion.
