Start date: Dec 31, 2014, End date: Dec 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project 'Multilingualism in II LO the Key to Europe' has been designed for the teachers of foreign languages and other subjects. The former proved the need to master their language and methodical skills as well as acquire the new qualifications enabling them to teach the second foreign language. The latter pointed at the usefulness of gradual introduction of the CLIL system in their teaching process. Therefore appears the necessity of their raising the language competence. Modern education in a constant changing world requires from teachers persistent self-development and up-grading their qualifications along with gaining new ones. Working with young people calls for regular verifying their educational attitudes towards students. The major goal of the project is to reinforce the stimulus of young people to learn more than one foreign language. The teachers of other curricular school subjects who will integrate foreign language content during their classes undoubtedly help to effect this goal. Nine teachers included in the project will participate in a range of courses, an intensive language course, methodological and CLIL courses. They teach different curricular subjects such as Maths, Geography, Biology, Business studies, Physical Education. A variety of methodological means and teaching methods along with bilingual terminology during lessons will ensure synchronous cross-curricular and language development in favour of students Such activities during teaching processes will facilitate to run more effective and stimulating classes which will motivate students to longlife learning and increases their satisfaction in daily work. The coordinate and parallel aim with the above is to educate a young conscious person who is equipped with adequate knowledge and awareness to join the 21st educational market and fulfill job demands anywhere in Europe and beyond. What is required from a contemporate graduate nowadays is that they acquire the homogeneous level of a foreign language recognized by Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment. The project courses will further the teachers' versatile development - professional, personal, social and cultural. The participation in the courses will allow new contacts with colleagues teachers from other European countries, will develop their cooperative team work abilities as well as increase support for and promotion of mobility activities for learners. They will also broaden understanding and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity. All the activities will benefit our aspiration for teaching a well educated , tolerant and open-minded graduate to fit in the labour market and modern environments.
