Conducted activities are to develop abilities connected with social activity in participants, as well as assertiveness in local environment, oriented at good of their local society, and to develop an open and tolerant attitude towards one’s surrounding. Very important accent is put on participants’ affirmation in conviction, that being active in their local society and promoting its good is useful and valuable in itself. Contact of representatives of national minority with young people from Poland has to create for them an area of exchange of various information, experiences and views. In this sense, it fits in such fundamental values for EU’s functioning as citizens’ liberty and equality, including those, who belong to minorities, and who should have an opportunity to function in such social surrounding, which is ordered by recognition of its cultural pluralism, in which all forms of discrimination are being discarded. Moreover, it also concerns the chances of people from small centres, retarded socially and economically, where inhabitants repeatedly faultlessly have significant difficulties in development aimed at creating a civic society, open and tolerant, working in accordance with the spirit of democracy.Project’s participants will take part in weekly workshops, during which they will analyse situation and outlook of people from small centres, through common debates, activities, exchange of experience, city games, working in groups and many other activities, especially concerning the aspect of belonging to national minorities in their countries. The direct result of the project will be the development in its participants an ability to work for their local environment, as well as an enthusiasm and motivation to act constructively in their place of residence and not only there. Moreover, the aim is to identify possible activities influencing improvement of national minorities’ situation in their region, as well as showing and promoting such European values as: tolerance, equality, openness or intercultural dialogue.
