In the present project, Csongrád and Becej intend to realize a jointly organized series of programme in the ‘People to people co-operation’ action. Organization of the planned festivals gives excellent opportunity for a multicultural reunion where participants are getting acquaintances and making friendships in addition to the presentation of varied cultural assets. Our project will host 4 jointly organized events.Day of Arts-“Welcome our Dear Guests”cultural day (July 9), “Wine Festival” (18-20 Aug) organized by Csongrád and “St Stephen’s Day” and “Ricsaj Folklore Festival” organized by Becej with participation of Serbian and Hungarian performers that draws people’s attention to the beauty of cultural assets and gastronomy. The festivals target local and regional inhabitants, tourists from different part of Hungary and Serbia and foreigners at any age. While some events aim children such as tale-telling, children drama plays, others target the older generation. It provides great entertainment and educational possibility for the audience and recognition for the talented performers.The main objective of the present project is establishing such long-term co-operation between the two towns that has remarkable positive impact not only on the tourism sector but on the familarization of the cultural heritage of these regions and peaceful neighbourship.Our goal is to develop the existing relationship, plan for the joint future of the two regions and connect them by development of mutual cultural ideas. Achievements: The main goal of the project was to bring the two nations and cultures together by organizing jointevents in both countries. From the beginning of the project the two project teams cooperatedactively to allocate the tasks. During the projet implementation 4 joint events were organized.Main activites were purchasing equipments such as plastic chairs and wooden cottages, soundtechnique and signing partnership statements with civil organizations, preparing promotionalmaterials, broadcasting events and project elements in TV and radio on both sides of the border.
