Welcome to GESŠ is an EVS project held in Gimnazija in ekonomska srednja šola Trbovlje (GESŠ) and Mladinski center Trbovlje/Trbovlje Youth Centre (MCT). GESŠ is a hosting organisation and MCT a coordinating organisation. We are hosting one volunteer in this project from October 2014 to the end of June 2015 (9 months). The volunteer comes from German speaking country. The volunteer will spend 4 days per week at GESŠ, being support to different classes such as German, English, history, geography, sport and helping at all international projects that school is having in this time and 1 day per week in MCT promoting EVS among young people in local community, organising club events for young people, being part of all major international and local projects. The volunteer will also have a chance to develop their own ideas during the project at school or in MCT. We develop this kind of project already in 2008 with primary school from our area and GESŠ is the second school implementing EVS projects during the school year. It will be their 3rd volunteer, so they are quite experienced already. The purposes of the project are: - to strengthen other organizations in the local community for hosting EVS volunteers, - to introduce EVS volunteer to formal education system and included him/her as added value in formal education process, - to encourage local young people to strengthen their foreign languages skills and intercultural learning, - to promote international mobility among young people in the local community, - to improve the system of cooperation between institutions of formal and informal education in the context of the EVS project, - to give young people direct contact with international volunteers and learn from each other and strengthen European awareness . The objectives of the project are: - to facilitate the mobility of one international volunteer in Slovenia, - to allow an international volunteer to develop their own personal project in school or in MCT, which will directly involve the local young people, - four days per week volunteer will spend at school, one day per week at a youth center and we will also connect activities, - to encourage at least 2 new candidates to do EVS project abroad. The results of the project will : - EVS project implemented at GESŠ and in MCT, - preparation of a new EVS project for GESŠ, - at least 2 new sending EVS projects.
