Start date: Jun 1, 2016, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

An essential role of VÖV as an umbrella organiszation is continously networking at the European level, so that indeeded exchange so as learning about best practice examples can be carried out to a regional level by the work of VÖV staff. Therefore this project "enhancements and implementing of innovative methods for adult education" covers three important aspects:1) Professionalization and quality development in all questions relating to integrate refugees and migrants.2) Quality improvement in teaching and methodology, so that education provisions can successfully meet the needs of new target groups.3) Accompanying measures for adult education staff, who are confronted with new challenges to guide and back them.Three VÖV-employees will take part in this mobility-project. Each of them represents VÖV at different levels as well as in different fields: Gerhard Bisovsky as the secretary general will be able transfer the outcomes at a political level as well as to other umrella organizations head magnager.Birgit Langeder can introduce her specialized knowledge about vulnerable target groups and innovative methods for training, as project manager at VÖV she prepares a project for adult educaters who are working with refugees, she also takes part in nationwide committees and organizes working groups to reach trainers and learners with suitable provisions for education.Elisabeth Feigl as head of languages at VÖV continously develops language provisions further. At her EUROCALL visit she can present the blended learning project she developed and implemented successfully in Austria and expects new inputs and networks for further projects.Urgent questions of suitable education provisions especially for integration of new target groups like refugees will be discussed with EU-organizations as well as with other international adult educators working at different levels. In the field of methods and didactics a bettering of competences is expected, as well as a improvement of networking with other EU organizations to develop further projects at the national and international level. Long term effects are upgrading management skills as well as key competences and the strategic teamwork for organizations and further projects. With this we want to ensure the quality of teaching and learning so that success also for target groups with difficulties can be guaranteed. At the EAEA conference in Brussels models of validation will be presented and discussed, as well as practical access to EU adult education from the position of learners shall be improved. To guarantee the best learning outcomes, conference participants will have the chance to bring their needs to an EU level. The preperation of this conference takes different concerns from partners into account. Therefore three workshops for different themes will be organized. At the EUROCALL conference in Limasol, Cyprus the fokus is at CALL and all forms of digital communication and plattforms for learning, also MALL (mobile assisted language learning) will be presented. With this new technology and methods various target groups can be reached. Especially refugees often know very well about digital formats and can be animated to learn new languages.Improvement of competences by VÖV-staff effects a bettering of quality for trainers and provisions in adult education which has a huge impact on adult education and its various target groups. Also the political influence for the needs of lerners can be communicated so that adult education in general and Volkshochschulen in particular are gaining more attention as an important part of national education systems.
