Weiterentwicklung des internationalen Profils unserer Schule
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The central aim of ecolea Internationale Schule is the support of international and intercultural ideas. In order to be able to pursue this aim every staff member is offered the opportunity to take part in language courses within their working hours. We want them to share these objectives and develop their language skills in training courses. Due to this orientation we plan to send some of our colleagues abroad for a job shadowing period. Teachers from various subjects will benefit from assisting lessons and experiencing daily routines at other European schools. At each school different aspects will be involved. At Isendoorn College Warnsveld (The Netherlands) the main focus will be on observing bilingual lessons in History, Geography and Biology. At Marks gymnasieskola (Sweden) the participants will pay attention to the system and framework of the school. The teachers will benefit from the opportunity to learn about different cultures and views with a focus on various ways of teaching and organizing daily routines. In the course of attending the European partner schools, the participants will consolidate our mutual relationships and extend them. Our plan is to establish new ways of exchanging both classes and individuals for different periods of time. Before sending the teachers abroad, we will make, together with the participants, an agreement that defines the objectives and activities for the period abroad. Furthermore, our French and Spanish teachers intend to take part in further educational training. They aim to improve their communicative and cultural competence in their subjects in order to pass on their authentic lanuage skills to their students. Preparation and following-up measures are instructed by the coordinator of international relations. They mainly consist of drawing up a plan of job-shadowing activities and criteria which are supposed to be evaluated at the end of the period abroad. The exchange of teachers within the European framework of the Erasmus+ programme ensures that both language and science teachers enjoy the opportunity to communicate in a foreign language and, thereby, to improve their language skills. At the same time they consolidate mutual relationships towards our partner schools. As it is an essential part of our school programme to provide students' exchanges in various classes, we aim to establish the mobility project of sending teachers abroad as part of our staff training. Thus, we take responsibility to create our future and the future of Europe. Today, more than before, we need a concept to remove unnecessary barriers between countries and to make teachers' teambuilding and co-operation possible.
