WBT WORLD will develop a flexible educational tool, supported by the internet and information and communications technologies (ICT) that will enable web-based trainers to make best use of information and instruction necessary for the design of web-based courses.A further web-based, 'wide-open' virtual resource will be introduced, content of which is to include: best practice in e-learning at European level; articles and periodical reviews; a presentation of new technologies in the field. Thus web-based trainers will have a common platform where they are able to learn, to share experience and to both update and exchange information.End project results will comprise: a comprehensive directory of best practice relating to web-based learning across Europe; 2 packages of on-line courses (16 titles) produced in response to the specific needs of the target group (these courses will cover both 'technical' and 'pedagogical' skills and will be accessible at 3 separate levels); a range of support documentation to include policies and successful initiatives in web-based learning; a selection of articles news, reviews and events; a database of linked web-based educational software (demonstration, shareware or freeware versions), all of which will be produced via the project website in the working languages of the partnership (HU, RO, BG, CZ, FI, EL & ES).Dissemination will comprise active promotion of the project website via registration with main search engines, placement of banners on partner websites, through e-mail news and a dedicated project newsletter. An additional project brochure will be produced by the project in all 7 partner languages and a promotional CD-Rom, to include a demonstration course, for national circulation by all partners.
