AFS Intercultural Programs will organise a job shadowing project which will involve 10 key members of our organisation. The Shadowing sessions will be organised in 5 pairs during a 2-year period in our partner organisation in Europe. The Job shadowing project will enhance the quality of the organisations with shared best practices and innovative new methods. AFS Intercultural Programs Finland has identified 4 key ares where wish to raise to quality of our work and these are: 1. Leading local volunteer groups including recruitment, coaching, management, motivating. 2. Connecting with local community especially co-operation of NGO's such as AFS and schools. 3. Governance and leadership in a volunteer organisation; division of power and tasks among AFS volunteer and staff, methods for raising volunteer participation, involving volunteers in strategic planning. 4. Training: training plans, structure, methods of non-formal education, development of volunteer trainers. The key areas will be used as a starting point in selecting the participants and partner organisation for the project. Through this job shadowing project AFS Finland and the participants will gain new methods for their tasks and raise their intercultural competence. Through this, the quality of our activities and exchange programme will be enhanced. With the Project, AFS Finland will also gain motivated and committed members of the organisation and will widen the network. Implementing the new working methods will have a long-term impact in our organisation in the mentioned key areas.
