Search for European Projects

W poszukiwaniu nowoczesnych metod nauczania - jak zachęcić ucznia w szkole podstawowej do nauki języka angielskiego.
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The title of the project is "Looking for innovative teaching methods - how to encourage students to learn English" and its duration is one year. The main aim of the project is to provide our students with the most innovative learning methodology and the ability to participate in additional lessons conducted only in English, with the application of the latest techniques. Such classes should be carried out effectively, with the teacher being up-to-date with the current technology and adjusting their teaching to their students' needs and abilities. Flexibility in choosing the appropriate approach facilitates creating a conducive and learning environment proper to the students’ profile. We believe that this line of thought about teaching will foster engaging a greater number of students in the learning process, especially those with learning and foreign language acquisition problems, and whose background is less fortunate. The participants of the project are two English teachers. They were chosen on the basis of their knowledge, ambition, diligence and zeal. Both of them are into innovative methods, which they use in numerous additional exercises and thereby increase the quality of their teaching, and their school. They have got a great influence on providing the needs defined in the European School Development Plan. Participating in the training will improve the teachers' knowledge of the culture of the English-speaking world, which will be exceptionally useful in their work with their students. They will be able to incorporate CLIL methods to the curriculum. They will also gain abilities which may prove invaluable in creating new proprietary programmes that will be realized in the additional classes. The training can also give the opportunity to study new ICT tools and ways of implementing them during lessons. What is more, participating in the project will provide the teachers with the knowledge and abilities to further international cooperation with other schools in the eTwinning or Erasmus plus projects. All of the skills and methodological innovations will be presented to other teachers at Staff meetings, and via the active operational database. The abilities that teachers will gain during the project will increase their modus operandi, which in turn will improve the quality of their work and the school. It can also affect such areas as cooperation with other schools, which will be more effective. As a matter of fact, all of the projects run by teachers will be more varied. It is an undisputable fact that the school is a strong authority in the local community, and participating in the Erasmus Plus project will have a great impact on it. The target audience will not only be the teachers and students from the given school, but also the pupils from the local kindergartens that cooperate with the school. The most important change supposed to be implemented after introducing these new solutions - the results of work on the project- will be improving the teaching quality and motivating the students more to learn English. This will be measured by analyzing the external exams results and competitions. The expected change of students’ attitudes, namely pursuit to self-education, openness, and curiosity, will be visible not only in high performance rates, but also in enhancing the attendance at the additional classes.
