Využívání ICT technologie při výuce jazyků
Start date: Jul 1, 2014, End date: Jun 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project was intended for foreign language teachers who work with digital technology. Both teaching foreign languages and ICT are priorities of the management of the school. After project completion, teachers were expected to use digital technology in their daily work in order to increase motivation and enhance level of education of their students. There were 4 mobilities of language teachers during a two-year period (out of 13 language teachers). These teachers are fully educated and qualified and have more than 10 years of experience. They are regularly trained. They run and create LMS MOODLE courses in classes, use CLIL method in lessons and they train students of the Pedagogical Faculty in methodology. They also participated in the EU project focused on creating digital materials. They have participated in eTwinning seminars. Teachers attended courses which are suitable for European language teachers who educate students at the age 10-19. The courses were focused on using technologies in the classroom. The project was implemented according to the schedule made by the coordinator. The courses ran during the school year 2014-2015 as the funding was delayed. Because there were only 4 teachers involved in the project, there were no problems in running classes. Also, there only was one mobility at a time. The aim of the project was to increase quality of instruction and it is safe to say that this ambitious goal was achieved. Teachers have contributed to higher motivation of students enabling them to have better chances in the job market. Improved communication with students have made teachers realize that more focus should be given to conversational skills. Better speaking skills will make students more successful in the European job market. In 2015, the school successfully applied for an Erasumus+ project which secured internships for its students in the UK. We have established cooperation with other European teachers. Together, we have contributed to mutual understanding and wider cooperation in the field of language learning and new technologies and communication. The project application stated that we want to have an attractive school for both students and new colleagues. The school management has been supporting and facilitating teachers´ development and strives to create environment where foreign language and expertise are linked so as to obtain functional literacy which is necessary for education in the 21 century.
