Vorwärts in Europa
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The purpose of our project is to enable the continuation of our successful international HANSE vocational college. Our aim is to continuly adapt to the needs of an increasingly globalized market, which is the basis of good education and training within schools of the future. In particular, our HANSE-professional course which is an attractive offer for our students, enabling their optimal launch conditions towards any successful career. Our HBK teachers will also be given the opportunity through such European ties, comparing different (further) training systems, and to subsequently obtain an adequate insight into the need for an internationally oriented training, whereby faciliting its use for their own professional work and the tailoring it to the needs of students and pupils in the future. Moreover, the essential networking opportunities gained by our teaching staff, which is indeed the very basis for such international work. Our imagined project involves 50 additional students and 8 teachers; and it complements our cooperation with other international institutions, tasking two additional project languages, namely English and Spanish. A further objective is, as with all our other targets offered through our college‘s international projects: to motivate fresh learners towards lifelong learning, to minimize the dropout rate of students, trainees and teachers, and to furnish opportunities for work-related training, ensuring that the methods are varied, and the achievements and results are simultaneously transparent to peers. Constructive cooperation and the common development of technical and methodological contents are essential aims. Relevant parts of training are soursed and provided within other EU countries, to endorse recognition for the training at the HANSE vocational college. For such purposes, any induction of our teachers at such facilities are carefully prepared in close cooperation with our partners. Work placements are closely accompanied by supervisory visits, Internet documentation and communication, whereby learners Identify their stay as an integral part of their training proccess. ICT skills are essential and enhansed in this type of communication, and all subsequent documentation required can normally be further acredited and their skills roles strengthened. From previous experience, it's been shown that the number of both students and teachers who encounter and emerge within such foreign practices frequently tend to have broadened their horizons and embraced self-growth. It is certainly noted that such experiences abroad enable our participants to gain an enhansed understanding of other cultures and modern working practises, whilst new methods are introduced within school life teaching. Such visits are also highly motivating, whereby both teaching and learning processes prove positive. By no means least, our international projects at HANSE Berufskoleg will help to increase the attractiveness of our college and schooling in general as a training vehicle, and act as a unique selling proposition. (We are the only vocational college identified as a European school within Lippe).
