Voneinander lernen und gemeinsam lehren sowie Internationalisierung
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Ernst-Ludwig-Schule is a secondary school with approx. 100 teachers. It is a member of the MINT-EC-schools network. By implementing the bilingual section in the school year 2002/2003, our school intended to emphasize the importance of learning foreign languages significantly. In order to teach the approx. 1,200 students adequately in our modern knowledge-based society and to prepare them for the European labour market, the school and its staff has to update the existing quality of education constantly through development and modernization processes, which must be realized at different hierarchical levels. The mobility project applied for aims at stimulating all these levels. These include broadening and developing managing skills, method competence in the field of foreign languages, CLIL and science, use of ICT, as well as the enhancement of the general language proficiency. Associated with this project is the discovery of the European educational landscape, the perception of European diversity, as well as supporting the development of European competence, which is enriching and essential for modern schools. 10 structured training courses focusing on quality development in management and general education development should be attended in this project. When selecting the participants it is attempted to cover a wide spectrum of subjects including the experience and results in many faculties. The participants teach at least one science subject or one language, they are also involved in the bilingual faculty or in the coordination of school partnerships. The plan is to attend one- to two-week training courses. In the framework of the mobility project, structured training activities should be attended by all hierarchical levels. In the long run, the sustainable quality development of our school ought to be supported by permanent exchange between all parties concerned, as well as by mutual evaluation aiming at integrating acquired knowledge and experience into the school curriculum or the school program and to contribute to increasing our educational profile. Our intention is an open-minded approach to methodological innovations and modern organization forms of teaching, an effective use of ICT in the classroom, a reliable transfer of these skills to all colleagues, a high motivation and openness towards international projects, as well as an efficient communication within the school community. Our project title “Learning from each other, teaching together and establishing international relations” is meant to express our multi-pronged approach. The development of high-performance teams at all levels is based on collegial exchange and advice with the intention of developing a sustainable good schooling system and of adapting to modern and pan-European requirements.
