Volunteers for social inclusion

The project titled “Volunteers for social inclusion” focuses on intercultural dialogue and social inclusion by connecting European and Non-European volunteers and organisations to take action against social exclusion and to contribute to the development of local communities. This reciprocal exchange project will enable young people from EU countries to engage in voluntary service projects dealing with social inclusion in African and Latin American countries, as well as volunteers from Africa and Latin America to volunteer in similar projects in Europe. The duration of the voluntary service is 6 months in each country. The countries involved are Hungary, France, Italy, Greece, Sierra Leone, Honduras, Ecuador and Colombia. The number of volunteers involved directly in the project is 12.The volunteers will work in a variety of local host organisations such as community centres, human rights advocacy groups, community centres for disabled youth, homes for the elderly, organisations dealing with the inclusion of disadvantaged young people, migrants and local minorities, animation and other cultural activities promoting the rights of people experiencing social exclusion to live in dignity and to take an active part in society.
