The present project proposal aimed at offering to all young people (with fewer opportunities above all) different opportunities of active participation in the life of their local community, mainly using volontary service at local level, in order to promote active citizenship, solidarity and facilitate social inclusion, by the original contribution of 4 volunteers coming from Latvia, Germany and Spain.The volunteers benefit of this intercultural learnig experience at personal and social level and had the opportunity to contribute to the development of the local communities of the Province of Vicenza (north east of Italy) enhancing the social cohesion.The project has focused on 2 main themes, youth policy and youth information, and its main specific objective were:- to promote youth participation at local level, in order to facilitate social inclusion and raise awareness on the importance of their active role in the constrution of a society more equal and tolerant; - to inform all young people (with specif attention to the youngsters with fewer opportunities) about the opportunities at local level to become a volunteer as expression of their role of active citizens;- to encourage young people to become theirself promoter of initiatives for the development of their community, as protagonist of their life;- to promote solidarity and tolerance at local level and promote the voluntary service as an example of active participation;- to enhance the social and personal development of the volunteers involved,- to develop new communication tools for the promotion of the voluntary service at local and european level.Volunteers have been hosted in Bassano del Grappa, one in Calvene, one in Schio in the Province of Vicenza – Italy, all of them collaborated to promote common initiatives at local level in order to educate all young people to participate and implement micro-project of voluntary service at local level with them. According with the European Year of Volunteering they organized, with the support of the coordinating and host organisations non formal education activities like: workshop about volunteering, information points for youth, video education sessions, debats about the value and the meaning to be a volunteer. Furthermore they product a video about voluntary service with the collaboration of some youth with less opportunity, that was distribuite at local level (Informagiovani – youth centres, libraries, secondary schools).The duration of the service was 8 months (from september 2011 to april 2012), the volunteers started and end the service together to guarantee peer support (educational and social) and a greater impact at personal and local level.Progetto Zattera Blu, the coordinating organisation, cooperated with the hosting and sending organisations in all the phases of the project (preparation, implementation, evaluation and follow up) and facilitated the communication between all promoters; furthermore guarantee costant personal, social, intercultural, educational support to the volunteers by weekly meetings. The volunteers benefit from specific training sessions and learnt from costant training on the job with the aim to become autonomous in the proposition of the initiatives to the target group and protagonist of the life of the local community.Il progetto è stato implementato secondo quanto indicato nell’application iniziale.Non sono stati effettuati cambiamenti rispetto alle attività e alla composizione dei partners.La volontaria lettone Ilze Mikelsone è stata sostituita da Darta Kaleja. La volontaria Mikelsone ha rinunciato al progetto in quanto aveva trovato occupazione poco prima della partenza.Il volontario spagnolo Christopher D. Rivas è stato sostituto da Andrei Urosa, previa autorizzazione dell’Agenzia Nazionale perché impossibilitato a partire a causa di un grave incidente in moto. Il volontario ha avvisato subito dell’accaduto.Il periodo di attività è stato modificato per il volontario ANDREI UROSA che ha avviato il servizio in data 19/09/2011 e concluso in data 19/5/2012 per impegni legati alla conclusione di un Master.E’ stata realizzata una attività non prevista con grande entusiasmo e interesse da parte dei volontari. L’attività è nata dalla proposta di conoscere i volontari sve accolti dalla cooperativa Insieme di Vicenza. I volontari si sono incontrati ed hanno condiviso l’idea di proporre alla cittadinanza degli incontri interculturali sulla cultura del loro Paese.
