Visualize: An innovative training concept for strengthening the tolerance and soft skills of young people
Start date: Oct 1, 2016, End date: Sep 30, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

What can we do for a more tolerant society? How can we equip especially young people with and without disadvantages with the social skills needed for the job market? How can we include an innovative creative method into trainings and classes? The Erasmus+, Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices, Strategic partnerships for youth - Project "Visualize: An innovative training concept for strengthening the tolerance and soft skills of young people" does address all of these questions and topics by bringing organisations experts in providing chances for disadvantaged young people and fighting intolerance, experts in IT and experts in visual thinking strategies from regions in countries spread all over Europe (Greece, Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, Spain, Austria, Germany) together at one table. The aim is to reduce intolerance, to equip young people with the relevant skills to be less vulnerable for right-wing and populist movements, to strengthen communication skills, self-reliance, social competencies and self-esteem among young people, to equip the teachers, social pedagogics and trainers and organisations involved with new innovative methods and skills and to make art, exhibitions and museums more popular among young people and using the surroundings for the specific aims by developing and implementing a transferable, cross-sectoral, cross-cultural, cross-organisational innovative and effective methodology. The methodology intended to reach these aims will make use of focus group sessions, short interviews, state of the art reports, international training of the trainers, implementation of piloting courses, online exchange spaces and will result in a short guidebook, including best practices, training paths, experiences and recommendations in order to share it with the wide public. It will therefore make use of all resources and tools nowadays available, meaning online and offline, implementing the course with the young people in training rooms / classroom sessions as well as during excursions, ensuring local, regional, national and international exchange including stakeholders as well as working internationally with neighbour and non-neighbour countries, EU-members and candidate countries. A project logo, a project flyer, a project website, a project facebook page and local/regional project multiplier events will underline the recognition value of the project and will be the basis for constant information, update and exchange with the further public next to the final product of the short project guidebook. The Erasmus+, Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices, Strategic partnerships for youth - Project "Visualize: An innovative training concept for strengthening the tolerance and soft skills of young people" will therefore show how sectors can be combined, how skills can be brought together, how exchange can be possible and how countries can work together and give their contribution to a more tolerant society where young people are better equipped with relevant social skills for the job market.
