PARTICIPANTS Project’s participants: vocational training last course students of the cook – waiter profession. The project will be implemented in 2014 06 01 – 2015 05 31. There will be two internships in Malta and two internships in Italy. Total number of participants: 36 (20 to Malta, 16 to Italy) and 4 accompanying people. PARTNERS Sending organizations: Kaisiadorys School of Business and Technology, Silute Agricultural School, Aukstadvaris Agricultural School and Elektrenai Vocational Training Centre. Hosting organizations: Pietrenere s.r.l (Rodi Garganico, Italy) and IZI Ltd. (Valletta, Malta). OBJECTIVES Project’s main goal: to improve professional knowledge of cook – waiter profession students, to educate their professional skills, professional and main common competences, to increase their entrepreneurship and improve opportunities of successful career. Other objectives: • to educate specific professional competences of the participants; • to raise the level of participants’ main competences and skills, especially taking into consideration their correspondence to catering sector and labor market; • to encourage participants’ entrepreneurship in the field of food preparation and serving, to educate abilities to work in business environment and critical situations, to increase initiative skills and self-sufficiency; • to raise the level of participants’ awareness and understanding of other cultures, sociability and tolerance; • to improve participants’ foreign language skills. Project will correspond to objectives of Lithuania’s professional education: • Correspondence of qualifications to requirements of labor market (in terms of internships students will acquire innovative professional competences); • Development of vocational training in real work place (students will do their internship in companies – real work places); • Diminishable of early school leaving (internships’ opportunities increase the number of students, wishful to complete vocational education). REQUIREMENTS Project participant’s professional requirements: • to acquire specific professional competences: to be able to prepare meals, which contains fish or seafood; be able to decorate and prepare tables for fish or seafood dishes; to be able to serve customers in foreign language; • to raise the level of main professional skills and competences, especially taking into consideration their correspondence to catering sector and labor market; • to acquire better occupation and employment opportunities, improve perspectives of future career; • to achieve, that acquired competences would be recognized in whole EU; • to acquire entrepreneurship skills in catering sector, to acquire skills how to work in business environment, how to act in critical situations, to increase initiative skills and self-sufficiency. • to introduce with business organizing, activities schedule making, work culture; Individual requirements of the participants: • to improve foreign language skills; • to educate communicative skills in foreign environment; • to raise the level of self-esteem and self confidence; • to raise the level of awareness and understanding of other cultures, increase sociability; • to introduce with hosting country’s culture and history, broaden cultural outlook and acquire new professional contacts which may be useful in the future; • to increase motivation of studying and improvement. RESULTS Expected project’s results: • Completed professional training under the internship program; • Acquired internship’s evaluation certificates – Europasses, certificates of hosting organizations and project’s coordinator. • Professional competences, acquired during the internship, are evaluated by ECVET methods. • Made reports of internships. • Raised level of the participants’ professional competences according to their professional requirements; • Improved main practical skills of participants giving better results of professional examination, integration possibilities in Lithuania’s and EU’s labor markets; • Raised level of participants’ self-confidence, self-esteem, initiative skills, entrepreneurship, sociability as well as tolerance and cultural awareness; • Improved language skills of participants. EVALUATION DOCUMENTS As the evaluation of acquired and improved skills and competences, every participant will acquire: • Europass mobility document; • Certificate of hosting organizations; • Certificate of coordinating organization; DISSEMINATION Project’s dissemination will be addressed to entrepreneurs, youth, local authorities and society of Kaisiadorys, Elektrenai, Trakai, Silute and surrounding districts; present and future students of sending organizations, their parents, teachers and schools’ communities. Methods of project’s dissemination: articles in web-pages and regional newspapers, stands and booklets about project, presentations of the internships.
