Virtuális Falu Program 1+1
Start date: Jan 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The existence of communities – among which rural communities play an emphasised role – is a very important pillar of the development of society. Community – beside family ties – offers the security of belonging to somewhere. Those who belong to a community do not only feel commitment towards each other but also towards those who live in their surroundings and their home directed by their common goals, through their programmes. This kind of responsibility-taking is one of the important foundations of the self-sustaining ability of the countryside and young people are their key actors. This is exactly why one of the most important aims of Virtual Village Programme is to help rural youth to find their places, goals in the countryside. Therefore it is so imperative to find the communities holding them together and supporting them, to help their activities. This is why we want to support the leaders, animators of communities functioning in the countryside with our programmes. They are the ones who take responsibility to the work, value, common goals in their communities, represent the interests of the community, therefore we want to achieve with our programmes that they should be able to represent all these with the power of unity in a structured way. In VVP 1+1, the emphasis is on the meetings built on participation in democratic life with which we create an opportunity to organise some kind of debate fora between the communities, young people and local decision-makers. These roundtable talks are designed not only to debate the issues of the settlement in question. We also expect the decision-makers, leaders and youth of neighbouring settlements, too. Thereby we on one hand reflect on those problems, deficiencies emerging at each settlement are existent in a wider space, too, they are the same, similar, and therefore it may be easier to find the solutions for them by the settlements joining forces. On the other hand, these meetings provide contact-making opportunity after which the neighbouring communities and decision-makers may share and exchange their practical experiences. The perceived harmonising during the meetings may play an important role in mapping the solutions sought to tackle youth unemployment and addressing them together. The most relevant topics aimed by the project: - organising events aiming for dialogue between youth and decision-makers/youth experts - consultation with youth for mapping needs for active participation in democratic life and processes - the issue of job creation for rural youth and finding opportunities for solving them with decision-makers - supporting structured dialogue with youth, encouraging youth in active participation in democratic life, formulating suggestions, statements related to that in issues concerning them - organising events that serve bringing local civil society with decision-makers and related to that, increasing their opportunities of participation in decision-making In the project, we plan to realise 3 trainings, 30 micro events, roundtable talks at the home settlements of the participants with the inclusion if neighbouring settlements. Separate summaries will be made of the results of these and we will make an analysis, problem map of these, and the suggestions, statements made by youth will also be included. The participants will make short video messages with those who were invited to the meetings related to the topic of the project and these will be uploaded to the website of the project, too. The successful implementation of the project is supported by 2 mid-term evaluation meetings. The project is closed by a big event, the Village Day of Tószőlős. (Tószőlős is an important component of the Virtual Village Programme that young people have drawn up in the framework of the programme. It is the imagined village with which they can place themselves in the life of their own settlement, too. It is the exceptional case when the unit working in theory can be achieved, although not instantly, but in time with persistence and continuous self- and professional training.) Out of the three days of the event, we expect 150 people. At the Village Day of Tószőlős, on one hand we will provide a place for communicating the results of structured dialogue in the presence of decision-makers, and those who are present will be able to debate the issues that emerged at the meetings during the analysis, the results of which we will present for the plenum. We also plan an exhibition during the programme. The latter will be composed of two topics: one will be a selection from the material sent for the photo competition and the other will present the good practice of NGOs for the visitors as posters. Beside all this, we also plan to organise traditional village games, competitions. 30 young people participate in Virtual Village Programme 1+1 who are all young rural people between the age of 18 and 30.
