VIAJE ENTRE CULTURAS: LA EUROPA DE LOS CONTRASTES
Start date: Sep 1, 2014, End date: Aug 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

We are a group of four schools from neighbouring counties, with excellent communications, and with a common history, as well as a common future. Each one of our centres has got a different profile, which can enrich the others, while providing our knowledge, experience and working procedures. The tasks are common so that each centre can enrich the project. All of the teachers and students will be able to learn other ways of working on the same topic. We will start out with the Latin origin of each country and this point will lead us to its current situation as we study its industry, its concern for the environment, its diet, its economy, its scientific and technological development and language. The objectives of our Project will be the following: § To contribute to the development of European citizens who will be active and involved in the Europe of today without forgetting their own roots. § To favour intercultural exchanges. § To promote the activities that will enable the teachers and the students to work in teams, cooperating with the colleagues from other countries, so that they may express their own ideas while they respect diversity. § To contribute to oral and written competence of our country and that of the other participating countries. That is, Spanish, French, English, Portuguese and Italian. § To learn to improve the use of Information Technologies as a means of communication and disclosure of our work. § To promote interdisciplinary and transnational activities. § To encourage integration while respecting cultural and linguistic diversity. § To exchange teaching experiences between the teachers, as well as the possibility of adapting them to our school. § To promote the mobility of the students through exchanges. The number of participants will depend on each school. However, 70% is likely to be students. The amount of movements that will take place will depend on the economic assignment. However, ten people for each country seems a good number. One of the students will present the work. We have planned the following activities: 1. The study of the origins of each country. We will visit the archaeological sites as well as the ethnological museums. 2. The study of the different diets, gastronomy and way of life of each country. 3. The study of the environment of each one of the regions. 4. The study of the economical environment of each centre. 5. The study of the climate of cities included in the project. 6. The study of light and its importance in the cultural and economic development of the countries. 7. The study of the hydrological resources of the area. 8. The study of the different job opportunities for our students. We will use an active methodology. Our students will have to search and organize the information so as to produce the documents of the exposition and other work, always supervised by the teachers. This will be reinforced by visits to the cities, industries, museums, and participation in conferences and meetings. Furthermore, we will always be in contact through the information technologies. Moreover, we will use an active and innovating methodology. It will be based on the use of I.T.C, modern languages and a supranational conception. The results that we expect are an improvement in the languages used as well as in I.T.C. Another one of our goals is to open our students’ minds. The benefits in the long run are a greater knowledge of the countries that surround us, contact with other educational systems and the promotion of mobility between students and teachers.
