We are an informat group of 10 young people aged 17 —22. The group has a leading-team of 4 participants who are primarityresponsible for finance, coordination, communication and marketing and program. We putted this group together with the purpose todiscuss the chattenges we face in our daily life, on our way home, in our homes and everything that occurs us. The group meetsregularly at Torggata 1, at the tocal place for Ungdomsfabrikken.The idea for this project started during a discussion in which many of us fett that there was a constant injustice portraying ofminority youth in media. Young peopte from minority background are often profited by the media as criminals, troublemakers, socialsecurity clients, with no ambitions to took for job and without reat role modets to took at. This is shown also to be facts in the reportmade by Retrieval for Ministry of Children, Equality and Social Inclusion (http://www.imdi.no/Documents/Rapporter/Medieanalyse_BLD_12-2011.pdf) . We came to the idea that we need to take our social responsibility by doing something about itrather than seating down complaining about how the media is unjust.We want to do something that never been done before which is looking for all the positive hard working minority young peopte whoare doing very well, interview them, take pictures of them and avail their video to the media and other peopte who complain thatthey do not know or have not seen "Positive minority young peopte that can be seen as good rote models." We wilt start from threeBydels and move to the next one untit we make sure we put at tight all the tatent, potential and positive young people from altbydels in Osto.The video clips taken during the project implementation will be put on Youtube, our website and will be distributed to the mediahouses and other institutions interested with our project in order to give it more visibility. These videos will serve as well to ourexhibition and will be distributed in schools, youth clubs and many other places where minority young people can be found in order toinspire them to be positive, have ambitions, work hard and be as well good rote models like the ones
