Vertiefung & Erweiterung berufsfachlicher Kompetenzen am Thema stoffschlüssiges Fügen in Finnland und Spanien unter besonderer Berücksichtigung interkultureller und sprachlicher Kompetenzen
Start date: Jul 1, 2016, End date: Jun 30, 2018 PROJECT  FINISHED

International students exchange is getting ever more important. The European labour market is open for mobility and colleges have to adapt their offers to prepare the future labour force for the European job market. For the regional development it´s important too, because a lot of our dual partner companies are global players and have a request for internationally experienced and open staff. For schools it’s a way to compete against others. With our partners in Vantaa, Finland and Buitrago, Spain we have good long term relationships, so that we feel confident to send our students to those countries. Our students all come from the metal field of vocational training and are going to have a one week attachment in the partner school and a one week work attachment in a company in the area of the local partner college. The time in school gives them the possibility to adapt to the local school culture and classmates as well as to learn with them in common projects. The time in the company is focusing on the foreign environment and workplace. Overall the language competency is challenged and fostered. Both the school learning objectives ( eg . welding ), which should be carried out action-oriented , as well as the time in company, have the possibilities to get to know the workaday life daily in the partner country and also the cultural realities. The examination in a different language (here English) promotes language competence .The objective of the deployment clearly is focusing on the consolidation of the own professional competence as well as the advancement of the personal competence by communicating in a different language within an intercultural area. The participants have to find their way autonomously in the working environment of the partner country , get involved with the local conditions and be fully compatible with existing structures and teams . In this way the movement of participants is significantly increased because the participants can react with an enhanced self-awareness and self-confidence to the future labor market in terms of the regional, national as well as the European labor market .Furthermore, the attractiveness of dual training as a whole increased with this program . A development which is quite regionally for the vocational schools of importance , one thinks of the declining number of pupils due to demographic change .A supplementary benefit of this programme is the impact of such an endeavour on the perception of vocational training in society. That is even more important when considering the demographic change in Germany and the need of the companies to attract young people for hands-on jobs. A further benefit in letting the students take part in the partner colleges is, that we can figure out and discuss ways to combine learning contents across the partner countries for the idea of future acknowledgements of learning outcome (ECVET).All participants are provided with a Europass documenting their participation and commitment in the Erasmus mobility and can be attached to their CV.The selection of students is done in co-operation and accordance with the dual partner of their vocational training (apprenticeship). The selection process is not to be underestimated due to the fact that those students are not only representing their company but the college as well as their country. So we take special care for their social abilities and competencies. The students will live in apartments that are organized by our local partners. After an introduction to the school and the companies some cultural events should make sure the students feel welcome and get contact to local peers. We are planning to send 24 students abroad in four flows to Finland and Spain.Next to the students, we are planning to send 10 teachers to the partner-colleges So, there are two more flows concerning the deployment of staff to participate in the partnercollege for team-teaching and job shadowing experiences. If staff is exchanged as well it helps to further plan common projects and to develop a network of professionals. The knowledge of the partnersystem helps to understand to work out projects concerning the ECVET approach for international acknowledgement or even gives possibility to plan common learning scenarios to internationalize learning and competence and to align such contents. From here it would be an easy to handle step to acknowledge learning outcome.
