Vergleich von Einsatz und Nutzungsmöglichkeiten der Elektromobilität in den Regionen
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project will be performed by the vocational schools of the BS I in Kempten/Germany and the INS in Figueres/Spain. Both schools have cooperated successfully in Leonardo Projects for more than 8 years now. The BS I in Kempten prepares their participants for the stay in Spain through a course with a focus on language and culture. The school in Figueres helps us in organizing the accommodation and the work and cultural program in Spain. The Spanish school has a proven record of putting together high quality cultural activities and fitting placements. Furthermore the school will provide their equipment and facilities to enable our students to achieve a long term benefit of the project. 15 students of the electrical, mechatronic, and IT-department, all in their 2nd or 3rd year of apprenticeship will take part in the project. Together with their Spanish colleagues they will conduct a study on how to use electromobility to the best in the regions of Figueres and Kempten. They will work out the study together in English and present the results to an interested audience in Spain. The students will not only improve their job-related English, but also their general English due to the fact that they have to communicate and present the outcomes in English. They will learn to cope with the situation of being abroad and having to deliver a result on time. This will have a long-term benefit as in future the students will be more willing to work abroad and/or to communicate with foreign customers in English. This study is a further step in the long-term cooperation between the BS I in Kempten and the INS in Figueres in the field of renewable energy. Both regions, the Allgäu and Catalonia, have a strong interest in renewable energy and profit from new inventions. The participants will also do 8 to 10 days of placement in selected Spanish companies fitting to the student’s jobs. There they will learn how to resolve job related problems even with a limited knowledge of the language. They will also immerse in another culture of work and see a different approach to problem solving. The participants will have a long-term benefit as they can implement those problem solving strategies and intercultural experiences in their export-oriented companies. It will be easier for them to go abroad for commissioning or to communicate with foreign customers of their companies.
