Verbesserung der Unterrichtsqualität in den Fächern Englisch und Französisch an unserer Gesamtschule im Sinne eines lebenslangen Lernens und dem interkulturellen Austausch
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our project consists of two parts: On the one hand we are planning to send two French teachers to a french school in Lyon where they are going to take part in the lessons (job-shadowing). They want to get to know the French school system and the methods and materials used as well as to get in contact with French teacher colleagues with the aim of initalising a student's exchange programme. It is therefore important to talk to the French colleagues directly and to get to know the local conditions. The second step includes agreements and conventions about mobility. The main focus is based on the organizational preparation of the school exchanges. On the other hand we are planning to send two English teachers to the training of "Storyline meets Storytelling" in Scotland. They are going to become aquainted with the storyline-method at the Strathclyde University of Glasgow. In the next schoolyear, as part of a conference, they will pass on their knowledge to their colleagues and they will also let their colleagues sit in on their own lectures. They will make available to their colleagues the received material and will give help and advice to others. Thus the storyline-method can become a part in the daily school routine. This will enable especially those pupils with learning problems in English and with other learning disabilities to participate in the foreign language classes. Cooperative learning will be pushed along, too. The participants will be responsible for the practical and logistical aspects of the project. By integrating the storyline-method in the foreign classroom as well as by organizing a student's exchange programme, we expect a long-term improvement of our teaching quality and a higher motivation of our students to improve their knowledge. We also expect that our students will realize their improvement in learning and using a foreign language, expecially when they get in contact with other students as part of an exchange programme.
