Due to globalization it is more important than ever before to prepare our students for facing this rapidly changing international world. To help students getting enough skills in dealing with globalization we want to extend our school's international profile by using modern means of media and communication more frequently and sophisticated. Our one year staff project aims at improving the participant’s teaching skills, methodic and technical skills and abilities, concerning especially media and social media communication skills. The participant teaches English as well as Politics, History and Economics, has got some international experience and is therefore suitable for starting a project for the extension of our school's international profile. We want to get new impulses for improving our teaching of foreign languages to gain more sustainability in that area. The participating colleague will pass her gained knowledge on to her fellow colleagues. Therefore a great number of teachers will benefit from these skills and could use them for their foreign language teaching (etwinning, for example) as well as for cross-curricular teaching. We want to achieve a more international profile for our school and hope that this course will help us improving and reaching this international aim. We also hope to get to know people from different countries for doing international projects together in future. This will help accomplishing improved language teaching and internationalization. The gained experience will have a positive effect on lessons and therefore on the motivation of pupils and teachers alike which will improve language skills as well as internationalization.
