Verbesserung der Sprach- und Methodenkompetenz von fachfremdunterrichtenden Englischlehrern

Our school is a 2-line primary school with a secondary school (called Werkrealschule). Mainly the English lessons are given by the class teachers who have not studied the subject. Therefore, it is important for us to carry out a project to improve the linguistic and methodological skills of teachers. The teaching quality should be thereby improved in the long term. The project will have a positive effect on both the teachers and the students. One teacher will argue in a training in Malta intensively with the English language, methodology of teaching English, the preparation of learning environments and the culture of the country. Her newly acquired knowledge she will use in class as well as she will teach it to their fellow collegues. The training has met the aim set out above. The participant passed on the new knowlege, the school year at her college. Thus, the project generated a positive effect on the college and teaching.
