Due to its diverse offer in the fields of artistic and cultural education the school BG&BRG Wien 3 (HIB), Boerhaavegasse 15 is a unique school throughout Europe. The school is known for its various artistic and interdisciplinary projects and the number of students applying for an entrance to this school is constantly rising. (currently about 875 students are attending the school) At our school cultural education is regarded as an important basis for present social challenges. Further aims of our school are the encouragement of creativity, artistic ability, self-initiative, individuality and the capacity for teamwork in a European context. Our school stands for open-mindedness and tolerance, achieved through a strive for mutual respect, appreciation and thoughtfulness.We develop projects with partners in the fields of culture, science and economics and thereby transfer competences that enable adolescents to responsibly co-create our society’s presence and future.Through the constant development of our school we aim to guarantee the quality of our pedagogical work as a team. Project aims:-Improvements shall be achieved in the field of staff competence. -Intercultural project management competences for European projects shall be further developed and improved.-Internationalisation and strengthening of the European dimension of our school shall be implemented.-International opening and the motivation for europewide student projects shall become self-evident through an educational improvement in the area of intercultural competences.-More of our students shall get involved in international projects, in order to enhance their social skills, such as teamwork, presentation and networking and to thereby open new opportunities for the personal development of the students.-The number of contacts to other European schools shall be extended.Number and profile of participants:One participant has taught instrumental music piano since 1983 and project-and event management since 2007. She is initiator, project leader and organiser of schoolrelated, interdisciplinary projects and leader of teambuilding workshops.Because of the organisation of interdisciplinary schoolprojects she is constantly anxious to attend further education for a quality improvement in the areas of project- and event management, to educate adolescents as future representatives and reproducers of intercultural projects, as well as to improve her own skills. As initiator of large-scale projects she managed to boost the familiarity of the school as well as to enhance the cultural development and project management qualities of students. Through her participation in this advanced training course she aims to improve her skills in intercultural management, establish contacts to further enhance the organisation of future interdisciplinary, artistic school projects in the European context and to function as a motivator for other staffmembers, eventually getting them to take an active part in this field.The other participant has taught musical education, mathematics, communication and ICT since 1998. He is conductor and leader of the school’s orchestra and also the leader of the school quality management group (SQA), initiator, project leader and organiser of international, interscholastic projects in the context of cultural education and subject coordinator for musical education.He wants to deepen his skills in intercultural project management, to professionalise his work in interscholastic, artistic projects in the European context.Through his participation in the advanced training course he wants to establish and maintain a network in order to find suitable project partners for future Erasmus + projects.Activities and methods:Through the advanced training course the participants shall intensify their skills in intercultural project management to consequently function as a driving force in school development for the initialisation of intercultural European projects in the field of school quality management.Description of intended results and effects and potential longterm benefit:The seminar experience will induce a motivational push for intercultural studies and intercultural cooperation and will consequently promote the effectiveness of the school’s collaboration with European projects. The advanced training will enable the teachers to enthuse the staffmembers for the European thought and through a professional realisation of these projects also strengthen the students‘ intercultural, artistic and social competences.
