Verbesserung der Fremdsprachigkeit, des bilingualen Unterrichts sowie der IKT-Strukturen des Schulalltages zwecks Internationalisierung
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

On the basis of the thorough and diverse teaching of knowledge and methods as well as an improvement of the creative aspects of learning, the didactic focus of our school on Mathematics and natural sciences as well as music has been established. A process of evaluation carried out in May 2014 at our school amongst teachers, pupils and parents has shown the necessity of further education and training concerning foreign languages, staff competence, new teaching methods and internalization in European dimension. Our participation in this Erasmus+ project is meant to fill the needs that became evident in the evaluation. In the last three years, we have gone through a trial phase of English bilingual teaching in History, Geography and Biology. As a member of the National Excellence School Network, we are able to offer “only” two classes in English, all other classes are taught in German. We intend to widen the range of the classes we are offering by adding further bilingual elements and more bilingual courses (CLIL, DNL). To be able to fulfill this plan, three participants are to take part in CLIL-Training courses and letting four participants sit in on classes at an English and French speaking school. Through these procedures the methodical and linguistic competence of the participants should be improved Furthermore, the project is meant to contribute to the innovation of teaching methods and of the school management. Our aim is to improve the technical aspects of teaching and establish an innovative approach in the basis of IKT-structures. This should reduce the amount of paper and guarantee a more up-to-date and simultaneous information of all members of the school community. Attending fairs (Science on Stage and BETT in London) will enable the participants to get to know new IKT-structures. Job shadowing, sitting in on classes and getting to know new schools structures and systems will enable them to test their practicability and to implement them at our school. The acceptance of the candidates will be based on their subject specific competence and their willingness to multiply their newly gained knowledge and to implement innovative measures in our school. The project related training measures do not only improve the methodical, structural and pedagogical skills of the participants but also sharpen their awareness of European and international affairs. The dissemination of results at our school will intensify the perception of the wide range of European cooperation and should motivate other members of staff to participate in European projects such as strategical partnerships and ETwinning projects. The enrichment the given project offers concerning innovative teaching methods and new classes due to new IKT structures will open our pupils‘ mind in participating in international projects. Thereby they will be thoroughly prepared concerning the conditions determining the European job market. By innovating teaching methods and school management by introducing new IKT structures, we hope to harvest synergistic effects and make our school environment more efficient for the benefit of our staff and pupils.
