Our school , Primary School Worfelden , is a public elementary school with 160 pupils aged 6-11 years. It is located in the Rhine- Main area. In grades 3 and 4, the subject English is taught. The school participated in the Comenius project, that ended six years ago. In our actual educational work we still profit from the knowledge and experience of the Comenius project. . The focus of our work are currently individual learning , the training methods , the implementation of educational standards and training in social skills. In addition to all other subjects we want to optimize also language teaching based on our priorities. Therefore, we first want to send an English teacher to the training for " English in Primary School" in language, methodology , school visitation , life and culture , international cooperation. Purposes are: the further development of language skills , enhancement of the known methods repertoire - for example more individualisation, the opportunity to receive insight into the organization of English Primary School ( s ), the exchange of experience and cooperation with colleagues from other nations (and if possible in future), experience in English life and culture. The teacher for the training is selected in a cooperation group based on established criteria and previous consultion with all colleagues. We expect from the training for our English language teaching : more liveliness and fluency in language teaching by an increase in language skills a method extension also available for more individualisation in teaching English and for other subjects , getting to know the school organization in other countries , learning about different cultural aspects in English speaking countries for a lively introduction in typical local culture. The newly acquired knowledge and experience is passed in professional conferences and teacher training days in our school , discussed and subsequently woven into our pedagogical approaches . It is agreed with the participant to implement newly acquired knowledge and experience in the lessons and in working goups, conferences and in the colleague.
