The teachers of the Vocational School Linz 7 teach apprentices for jobs as retailers, wholesalers as well as book trade retailers. In daily practice the direct contact with customers - mainly in the marketing area - of the respective trading firm is the focus of the operative events of the dual education. In the context of progressive internationalisation combined with the increase of mobility there is a rising demand of the trading companies for qualified employees with good foreign language compentence, especially good command of English. On the one hand one key aspect of our vocational school during instruction is placing the basic linguistic knowledge as well as on the other hand the illustration and the acceptance of cultural diversity. This Erasmus+ application tries to allow for these circumstances. The targets are the improvement of the linguistic skills as wells as the concentration on the cross-cultural understanding of the instructing teachers by meeting an anglophone environment. As a maximum eight teachers of our school who instruct the English subject self-reliant organise an individually adapted English language course. They also organise their own travel to and from the British Isles and the residence there. The daily language course will be confirmed through a certificate by the relative language school for adults at the end of the course. As impact I expect the improvement of English liguistic as well as geographical knowledge, stabilisation of personality, a higher didactical-methodical immunity of instruction, liberally intercultural views of life, reducing inhibition threshold, stabilisation for daily education and the ability for organising mobility of students. This consolidation of the skills of the instructing teacher opens good prospects for the possibility of instructional transformation to pupil`s achievements and attidudes which consequently is a long-run contribution to school quality. As a further impact I expect the cumulation of the number of student mobility.
