EUROPEAN SELLERS CONTEXT AND OBJECTIFS OF PROJECT The students attending the high school Théophile Gautier are the kind to face social hardship. They have lost faith in the school system and this leads them to often skip classes or drop out. Faced with alarming figures, the educative team of the Sales program would like to develop mobility projects as part of the curriculum with the hope to motivate the students again. The new curriculum would include innovative teaching projects including mobility programs and internships abroad. In order to organize these new projects, the teachers will need to complete their training through teachers’ mobility projects which will also allow them to be in contact with companies in other countries of the European Union in which students will go on internships. NUMBER AND PROFILE OF THE PARTICIPANTS Five teachers in sales and 1 ESL teacher wish to take part to a mobility program in England or Spain in order to update their didactic and linguistic knowledge as well as coming into contact with partner schools and companies and also take a certification that will allow them to include a European section into the Sales program curriculum. METHODOLOGY TO BE USED IN CARRYING OUT THE PROJECT The tertiary coordinator and one of my colleagues in the business studies program will run the project by carrying out tasks outlined under a Gantt diagram. The state of progress of the project will be regularly checked and adjusted. DESCRIPTION OF THE RESULTS AND IMPACT ENVISAGED Offering the students the possibility to have a period of training abroad and to have a European mention on their high school degree will value their program. Furthermore, opening up to new horizons will help them feel more European. Offering opportunities abroad will set the school on a new dimension and improve the appeal of our sales programs. Thanks to the innovative teaching methods that the opening of a European section will provide, teachers will be more motivated and will carry on intercultural projects THE POTENTIAL LONGER TERM BENEFIT The project will allow them to benefit from a mobility organisation with the participants team and thus to understand the complementarity between different academic subjects (professional and language ones), to implement skills related to new technologies, to improve their language skills, to get a professional experience abroad ratified by different tools (Language Europass, Europass Mobility, CV Europass, and a European grade for the ‘baccalaureat’ ), to develop autonomy, responsability, motivation, self-confidence, all these elements being assets for higher education studies or securing employment.
