In recent years there has been a rapid increase in the number of students with learning disabilities. In order to address this issue, the school needs to become the basic socialization, education, literacy, internationalisation of education and vocational orientation factor for the students. The objectives of the project are:1. The education of teachers on modern methodologies of dealing with students with learning disabilities,2. The training of teachers in using modern methods of classroom control,3. Finding innovative tools and methods aimed at making student life more creative for persons with learning disabilities,4. The introduction of a European model of vocational counselling and guidance to these students,as well as6. Increase the capacity for action at a European level,7. Strengthen the cooperation with European institutions,8. Improve the professional profile of the participants. The main criterion for the selection of the participants was the desire to evolve their professional abilities and activities as well as -the commitment for transferring and making use of the acquired knowledge and experience,-the good knowledge of English language-previous training in ICT (where applicable)-previous training in teaching students with learning disabilities-previous training in classroom control techniquesFurthermore, the individual mobilities have been planned based on diffusion criteria in order to represent teachers from individual sectors as well as teachers of general education. The overall rationale of the programme includes the 4 individual mobility activities described bellow:The 1st mobility activity is about the training of 6 teachers, through a structured course, in teaching students with learning disabilities. The 2nd concerns the training of 3 teachers, through a structured training course with additional in-classroom observation, in better classroom control. The 3rd, regards the participation of 2 teachers in a structured training course on the use of specialized software that appeals to students with learning disabilities and better facilitates the assimilation of the teaching material. Finally the 4th one will focus on the training of the school headmaster and one assistant manager, through a structured course and on-site visits to a European school, on methods for the organisation and operation of specialized classes for students with learning disabilities as well as a new model of vocational orientation.Participants will broaden their personal horizon, obtaining:-experience from the implementation of a European mobility programme-self-confidence, for their ability to carry out such a project-and finally, expansion of their professional profile, through the ability to manage issues relating to students with learning disabilities (classroom control, organisation of teaching practices up to the creation and operation of specialized classes for such students). The school will be upgraded-efficiently addressing students with learning disabilities,-organising a comprehensive plan to incorporate methods that care for students with learning disabilities in the way of teaching in the classroom,-creating specialized classes for interested students-through the participation of the parents in the educational process by informing them about contemporary methods for managing the abilities of such students and the potential of European employment vents-by creating an incentive to other teachers for organising and participating in new European programmes. Our school, after researching the needs of our students and teachers, organized the selection process of the participants setting the criteria. It then seeked trustworthy institutions that can meet the training needs of our teachers. Following the approval of this programme and by taking advantage of the past experience of teachers who were involved in European programmes, the next phases of the project will begin. These include the preparation steps for the mobility activities, the communication during the implementation and the evaluation of the results by the rest of the teaching council. Finally, there will follow several actions for the dissemination of the acquired knowledge and experiences to:-the rest of the teaching staff-the students and their parents-the teachers vocational education of our region. In the long run, we hope for a friendlier image of our school and the reduction of unemployment of our graduates.
